HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Magnolia at El Dorado

El Dorado (No. 1 in Class 6A) downed North Little Rock 19-18 last week when junior quarterback Taylor Reed completed a 1-yard pass to Clay Murphy on the game's final play. Murphy, who also excels as a kicker, accounted for all 19 points. El Dorado's defense didn't allow North LR to score in the first half, and the Wildcats kept Camden Fairview out of the end zone in the second half during a 30-14 win over the Cardinals in Week 1.

Magnolia rallied from a 12-3 halftime deficit to down Haynesville, La., 23-12 last week. It marked Magnolia's fourth-straight win over the traditional Louisiana power. Magnolia senior running back L.J. Berry has rushed for almost 300 yards and three TDs this year, while senior kicker Jarryd Dempsey owns 40-yard field goal range and consistently makes extra points.

WEEK 3 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
5A EAST

Nettleton at BENTONVILLE (42): Nettleton downed Trumann 25-24 last week, kicking the game-winning field goal with eight seconds left. Defending Class 7A champion Bentonville blasted the Raiders by 36 points a year ago.
Blytheville at JONESBORO (20):  Jonesboro averages 42 points per game and the Hurricane hammered Blytheville by 18 points last season. The Chickasaws averaged 6.8 yards per carry in last week's 52-21 loss against Class 7A Springdale.
Mountain Home at BATESVILLE (2): Batesville QB Kraig Kelly completed 14 of 18 passes for 157 yards and a TD in last week's 17-6 win over Class 6A Searcy. The Bombers haven't beaten Batesville since 2001.
WEST MEMPHIS (1) at West Helena: These teams battled to a 14-14 tie a year ago. West Memphis rallied from a 20-point deficit in last week's 42-34 win over Pine Bluff.
FORREST CITY (21) at Marianna: Forrest City downed Marion by 11 points last week after trailing 24-6 at halftime. QB Barrett Astin could develop into a college prospect if he doesn't focus on baseball at the next level. The Mustangs mauled Marianna by 31 points last season.

5A SOUTHEAST
Sylvan Hills at NORTH LR (21): Sylvan Hills' offense continues to sputter, scoring just 14 points this fall. North Little Rock athletes Tim Johnson and Justin Henderson can score on any play.
Sheridan at WHITE HALL (3): White Hall must get healthy after losing QB Matt Taylor in last week's 33-point setback at Watson Chapel. Taylor will likely miss this week's game, which forces the Bulldogs to use running back Larry Walls in the Wildcat formation.
LR McClellan at LR PARKVIEW (8): LR McClellan broke an eight-game losing streak with last week's 26-12 win over LR Fair. Parkview's two wins are by a combined 21 points.

VILONIA (7) at Beebe: Winless Beebe gives up 35 points a game, but Vilonia averages just 20 ppg. Vilonia trailed Jacksonville by three points in the fourth quarter last week before the Red Devils added a late TD.

5A WEST
Alma at SPRINGDALE (1): Alma matches up well with teams from the 7A West with big, strong linemen and a physical mentality. The Airedales led Har-Ber by 13 points in the second half last week before losing 30-20.
SHILOH CHRISTIAN (8) at Greenwood: Hootens.com Class 4A Game of the Week. Shiloh Christian junior QB Kiehl Frazier continues racking up scholarship offers. The Saints likely won't be tested until facing either DeQueen or Nashville in the quarterfinals.
