WEEK 3 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
5A EAST
BATESVILLE (18) at Mountain Home: The Bombers haven't beaten Batesville since 2001. The undefeated Pioneers use a stingy defense to take pressure off a young offense.
Marianna at FORREST CITY (4): Forrest City has beaten Marianna by 47 points the past two years. But Marianna forced five turnovers against West Helena a week ago.
Newport at WYNNE (6): Wynne has won five of six over the Greyhounds the past decade. The Yellowjackets must contain speedy running back Artez Brown.
Trumann at PARAGOULD (3): Trumann must eliminate mistakes (two turnovers and committed 17 penalties against Nettleton). Paragould beat the Wildcats by nine points a year ago.
VALLEY VIEW (7) at Nettleton: Nettleton's effective running attack can't overcome turnovers and penalties. Valley View senior QB Taylor Lindley ran for a school-record six TDs in last week's 53-14 win over Cave City.
Greene County Tech at MARION (4): Greene County Tech's stout passing attack stretches Marion's defense. Marion rushed for 412 yards in last week's 10-point win at Forrest City.
BLYTHEVILLE (8) at West Helena: West Helena QB Markeith Jacobs returned from an ankle injury last week when the Cougars sped to a 13-point halftime advantage but lost to rival Marianna 34-25. Blytheville junior receiver Greg McKillion has caught three TDs this year.
Beebe at VILONIA (10): Vilonia senior QB Drew Knowles proves a run/pass threat in Vilonia's potent ground oriented attack. Beebe squandered a seven-point, fourth-quarter advantage in last week's 26-21 loss to county rival Lonoke 26-21.

5A SOUTHEAST
WATSON CHAPEL (1) at Camden Fairview: Hootens.com Game of the Week. Watson Chapel has beaten the Cardinals in consecutive seasons.

Dumas at MONTICELLO (1): Monticello senior running back Brian Handley (more than 300 yards rushing) gives the Billies a chance in every game. Unbeaten Dumas uses Darion Griswold to make timely TD passes. Griswold has led Dumas to wins in 14 of its past 16 regular-season games. Bobcat junior Trey Winchester scored three TDs in last week's 21-point win over Fordyce.
WARREN (14) at Crossett: Crossett's offense can't find a spark without standout junior running back Orlando Robinson (knee injury). Warren senior Savian Gilbert has rushed for almost 400 yards this year.
Sylvan Hills at LR PARKVIEW (8): LR Parkview has scored just seven points in the first half of games this season, but the Patriots play much better in the second half. Sylvan Hills running back Nate Clark rushed for 157 yards and a pair of TDs in last week's 24-15 win at LR Christian.
