GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 2 Watson Chapel at No. 1 El Dorado

These two meet for the sixth time in four years. El Dorado has won four straight in the series, including a 48-22 blowout in last season's semifinals. El Dorado beat Watson Chapel 36-32 in this year's conference opener with senior tailback James Ford rushing for 152 yards and two scores, including the game-winner. Watson Chapel last beat El Dorado in 2006.

El Dorado advanced to the semis by overcoming a 14-10 halftime deficit last week to top Texarkana 31-14. Texarkana out-gained El Dorado as it did in the Week 5 meeting. Special teams were the difference last week with El Dorado blocking a punt, a field goal, and kicking a 40-yard field goal. El Dorado senior Clay Murphy caught two TD passes, kicked a 40-yard FG late in the first half and all four extra points. Senior LaDarrius Robinson blocked Texarkana's field goal attempt, and Cameron Mahone returned it 63 yards to set up a Murphy TD.

Watson Chapel won last week at Jonesboro 31-29 after trailing by 10 early. It rallied with a TD pass from senior C.J. Branch to classmate Kyle Coleman, and with running back Kevin Johnson's 19-yard TD scamper. Jonesboro pulled within two with 32 seconds left, but senior Morgan Hankins sacked Jonesboro's QB on the two-point conversion. Hankins also intercepted a pass earlier in the game to set up a Wildcat score. Home teams are 5-3 in the 6A playoffs in 2009.

BOTTOM HALF OF THE BRACKET
No. 3 Pine Bluff at No. 4 Lake Hamilton

After a 2-4 start, Pine Bluff has won six in a row. It avenged its Week 2 (42-34) loss at West Memphis with a 24-16 win last Friday at West Memphis. Senior Claude Johnson completed five of 11 passes for 77 yards and rushed for 77 yards. Johnson connected with senior Jonathan Frazier for a 29-yard TD. Pine Bluff RB Hakeem Stewart added two scores, including the game winner with 2:50 to play. The Zebras held 6A's top-scoring offense to two TDs. In Week 6, Lake Hamilton stopped Pine Bluff on fourth and goal from the 1 with 1:28 remaining.  The 27-23 victory for Lake Hamilton marked the Zebras' last defeat.

If Lake Hamilton beats Pine Bluff for the second time this year, it needs consistent play from senior QB Benson Jordan.  Jordan scored four TDs (two rushing, two passing) in the Wolves' 35-26 victory over LR Parkview.  Jordan completed nine of 14 passes for 119 yards and rushed for 45.  Junior running Tyler Walker made the most of his third consecutive start, exploding for 125 yards on the ground and took a screen pass from Jordan for a TD.  Lake Hamilton fell behind early 7-0 before rattling off 28 unanswered.  Lake Hamilton tries to advance to Little Rock for the third straight year.
