No. 2 Fayetteville at No. 4 Springdale Har-Ber
Har-Ber had its worst night passing this season, including two interceptions (one in the end zone) in last Friday's 28-21 home loss to Fort Smith Southside. WEEK 9 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
Bryant at NORTH LR (4): Bryant has won five games by 10 points or less, including three-point victories over Conway and Cabot the past two Fridays. North LR has won its past three games by an average score of 39-10, including a 48-0 victory over Cabot.
LR Catholic at LR CENTRAL (7): LR Central won two games in 2010, including a 23-20 decision over LR Catholic.
Russellville at CONWAY (28): Russellville gave up 559 total yards in last week's 48-21 loss to LR Catholic. Conway beat the Cyclones 49-14 a year ago.
Van Buren at CABOT (7): Cabot, picked by conference coaches to finish in the top half of the 7A Central, looks to avoid its first 1-9 season since 2005. Cabot won at Van Buren 35-28 last season.
Fayetteville at SPRINGDALE HAR-BER (3): Game of the Week.
FS Northside at ROGERS (1): Both teams have beaten Rogers Heritage and have playoff hopes. Northside receiver Shaquille Jones, the state's all-time leader with 261 catches, averages 9.3 yards per grab and is just 19 catches shy of making the national top five for all-time catches. Rogers missed a field goal as time expired in last season's 28-27 loss at Northside.
Rogers Heritage at FS SOUTHSIDE (21): It seems games don't really matter to tradition-rich Southside until it's almost November. Southside ended a two-game losing skid with last week's 28-21 win at Springdale Har-Ber. Rogers Heritage trailed Springdale 38-33 midway through the fourth quarter before losing by 20 points.
Springdale at BENTONVILLE (42): Bentonville struggled stopping FS Northside's option plays early last week and trailed for the first time this season before winning big. Springdale has won back-to-back games after starting 0-6. The Bulldogs did not fumble for the first time this season in last week's win at Rogers Heritage. Senior Tony Dennis has totaled almost 600 yards and seven TDs over the past three weeks.
Jacksonville at WEST MEMPHIS (13): West Memphis' defense allowed just 2.03 yards per carry and 61 yards passing last week at Class 6A Mountain Home.
LR Hall at SEARCY (35): Searcy senior QB Dezmond Stegall passed for 261 yards and three TDs in last week's 28-24 win at Jonesboro. The Lions beat Hall 39-8 a year ago.
