New names dot Arkansas' postspring 2-deep roster
The Razorbacks wrapped up spring practice on April 26 with the Red-White Game in front of a school-record crowd of 40,200. That attendance figure is the seventh-best in the nation this year and the third-best in the Southeastern Conference.

Razorback research, long-term expectations
I was born in 1958, so in my formative years, the HOGS won with regularity. I expect Arkansas to win. Bruce James always told watchers of Sports Week that Arkansas should never lower their expectations. Rick Schaeffer always says we should not expect too much. After all, Alabama, Auburn and LSU expect to win. So what should Razorback fans expect? BusinessDictionary.com gives this definition of expectations: Presumed degree of probability of an occurrence; average probability of a chance occurrence.

Nuttin' but work: Petrino puts Hogs through longest known UA scrimmage
Any questions Arkansas' coaching staff had about the Razorbacks were likely answered Friday afternoon in an 165-play scrimmage that had the Hogs on the field warming up at 3:15 p.m. and exiting for the locker room at 6:45. The scrimmage was the longest seen on the UA campus, perhaps ever.

Petrino: UA needed skilled players and state's prep programs delivered
Facing heavy matriculation from the skilled positions on offense and defense, Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino and his staff targeted wide receivers, running backs and defensive backs in their first recruiting class and based on that criteria, the Hogs met their needs with the 2008 recruiting class.

McFadden must answer $20-million questions at NFL combine
North Little Rock native and former Razorback great Darren McFadden faces a long weekend of questioning by coaches, scouts and executives at the NFL's scouting combine. McFadden will answer million-dollar questions, literally, the next couple of days. How well he answers will determine how long his wait on NFL draft weekend (April 26-27).

Hog blog: Petrino lands far more than recruiter in Tim Horton
In our out-of-control, cutthroat world of big-time college athletics, it's refreshing to connect with a Tim Horton. He's void of the limp handshakes and fleeting glances that we've all received from those who deem us unworthy of their time or attention.

Top recruit Joe Adams handled process well

Arkansas signee Joseph Adams is as smooth off the field as he is on it. The Central Arkansas Christian star receiver executed the recruiting process like a crisp slant pattern.

Dollarway D-end Allen faces tough choice: Houston Nutt or the Hogs
"If (Nutt) was still at Arkansas, he would have gone there hands down," the elder Allen says. "He is crazy about Houston Nutt. I don't know how much of a difference it will make that (Nutt) has gone to Ole Miss. He has a lot of respect for Houston Nutt, but he is a Hog fan like the rest of us."

Q&A w/1976 Cotton Bowl MVP & Razorback great Ike Forte
Arkansas' return to the Cotton Bowl always brings back fond memories for Razorback fans. The venerable downtown Dallas stadium is the site of some of the more significant days in the school's football history. The Hogs' first win there, a victory over Nebraska Jan. 1, 1965, produced their only national championship. After a Cotton Bowl loss the next year to LSU, ending a 22-game winning streak, Arkansas had to wait ten years for another trip to Dallas.
