A-State coach Blake Anderson to meet with media, fans Tuesday in Little Rock
JONESBORO - Arkansas State fans in central Arkansas will have the opportunity Tuesday to hear from Red Wolves head football coach Blake Anderson at the Arkansas State University System Office in Little Rock. ASU hc BLAKE ANDERSON
Anderson will discuss A-State's 2015 signing class from 6 to 7 p.m. at a social event open to the public and free. The ASU System Office is located at 501 Woodlane Avenue across from the Arkansas State Capitol. The event will feature a question-and-answer session with Anderson. Red Wolves Foundation and season ticket information will be available to fans.
The A-State football team announced on National Signing Day that 24 players, including seven midyear transfers, from 11 different states have signed with the Red Wolves' program.
Arkansas State's second recruiting class under Anderson consists of 17 high school players, six junior college transfers and one NCAA FBS?transfer. The class features five players from Arkansas, four from Mississippi, three from Oklahoma, two from Alabama, Georgia and Kansas and one from Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.
The Red Wolves signed five interior defensive linemen, the most among any position and 11 of the 24 players inked are expected to play on the defensive side of the ball. Also among the signees are two defensive ends, two linebackers and two defensive backs. Including four offensive linemen, three running backs, three wide receivers and two quarterbacks, A-State signed 12 offensive players.
Including back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2011 and 2012, eight more in 2013 and seven last year, the Red Wolves have recorded 35 victories for their most over a four-year span since winning 37 from 1984-87 as an NCAA I-AA (now FCS) member. The Red Wolves' 35 total wins over the past four seasons also rank among the top 30 programs in the nation during that time period.
