No. 11 Danville at No. 24 Two Rivers
This Yell County showdown will help determine the 5-2A champion. Danville (6-1, 4-0) sits atop the league standings with an offense that averages 42 points per game. Danville sophomore RB Jaylon Easter has carried 63 times for 543 yards and 11 touchdowns, and classmate Sean Tyra has run for 372 yards and six TDs. Senior QB Justin Roy has completed 62 of 93 passes for 1,100 yards and 14 TDs. Senior Ossie Apalategui leads the Little Johns with 27 receptions for 524 yards and seven touchdowns. Apalategui has snagged a team high of five interceptions. Senior Jacob Gates leads the defense with 51 tackles, including eight tackles for loss and 10 sacks. Two Rivers (5-1, 3-1) counters with senior RB Clay Damon (700 yards, 11 TDs) and sophomore QB Blake Noakes (960 yards of offense). Damon paces the Gator defense with 90 tackles. Two Rivers has rebounded from an 18-7 loss Week 6 at Cutter Morning Star where four Gators missed the game due to injuries or sickness, and Noakes threw three interceptions.

Rector at WALNUT RIDGE (30): Walnut Ridge's 49-8 non-conference win over Hughes last week came at a high price when senior WR/DB Logan Gaither (4.5 speed) suffered a season-ending leg injury in the first quarter.
E. Poinsett County at MCCRORY (28): McCrory walloped nearby rival Augusta 35-6 last week to sit atop the 3-2A. Senior Jadrien Holiday paces the Jaguars' first-team defense that has allowed three TDs this year. Senior RB Boyd Williams has rushed 98 times for 1,125 yards and 17 TDs for the No. 2 scoring offense (45.6 ppg) in the entire state.
SALEM (6) at Cross County: Salem needed a double pass from QB Ty Berry to Jason Huff to the end zone last week to pull out a 20-16 win over Marked Tree.
Cedar Ridge at AUGUSTA (21): Augusta's team speed too much for Cedar Ridge as Red Devils stay in three-way tie with Salem and Walnut Ridge for second place in the 3-2A.
CLARENDON (6) at Marked Tree: Clarendon sophomore QB Jamarlin Jackson one of the better athletes in the 6-2A and kept the Lions close last week in 16-14 loss at No. 3 Hazen.

UNION CHRISTIAN (17) at J.C. Westside: Despite its 28-point loss to Magazine, Union Christian should claim the league's No. 2 playoff berth, which means another tough first-round draw, likely No. 16 Clarendon. Marvell upset UC 20-13 in the first round of the 2008 playoffs.
Western Yell at MAGAZINE (42): Magazine likely won the 4-2A title last week by ripping Union Christian 34-6. Magazine senior RB and leading rusher Michael Corbitt (422 yards on 70 attempts) ran for just 20 yards last week, but senior RB/DE Jon Williams ran for two TDs and returned an interception 25 yards for a score in the second quarter.

DANVILLE (18) at Two Rivers: See 2A Game of the Week.
Lutheran at MOUNTAIN PINE (48): Maybe the most talented team in the conference, No. 14 Mountain Pine has played like it since an ugly 21-8 loss at Two Rivers a month ago.
Quitman at CUTTER M. STAR (2): Likely decides the league's fifth and final playoff berth. Cutter wins its third in a row at home.
CONWAY CHRISTIAN (6) at Norphlet: Teams going opposite directions. Conway Christian heads to the playoffs. Norphlet stares at a 1-9 season.

CARLISLE (33) at Palestine-Wheatley: Two weeks ago, No. 5 Carlisle held Woodlawn to 60 rushing yards and out of the red zone in its best defensive performance of the season. Last week, Des Arc piled up 12 first downs, almost 300 yards and 30 points in an overtime win over Carlisle.
DES ARC (42) at Hughes: Des Arc junior QB Justin Hollis emerged last week against Carlisle in Des Arc's second test of the year. Hollis ran for 168 yards and three TDs and passed for 35 yards and a TD in a 30-22 win over Carlisle. Des Arc senior RB/LB Jordan Holloway and junior Cody Robinson are play-making athletes who could help No. 4 Des Arc go deep in the playoffs.
HAZEN (49) at Marvell: No. 3 Hazen led Clarendon 16-0 last week, but improved Clarendon converted two Hazen turnovers into TDs in a 16-14 final.

Horatio at SPRING HILL (8): Horatio's young Lions have won two in a row over Dierks and Mineral Springs to move into the playoff picture. No. 8 Spring Hill needs to defeat Horatio with games left at Mineral Springs and at Murfreesboro to claim its first league title.
MINERAL SPRINGS (3) at Foreman: Mineral Springs reeling after losses to Murfreesboro and Horatio. Foreman's Kendall Shoals and Rashad McElroy combined for 28 carries and 91 yards last week in a 45-6 loss at Murfreesboro.
MURFREESBORO (12) at Mount Ida: No. 10 Murfreesboro's defense holding opponents to 214 yards and 13.7 points per game.

HAMPTON (35) at Dermott: Hampton's Spread comes alive against a winless Dermott team that has allowed 41 ppg, mostly against reserves.
Hermitage at SMACKOVER (17): Smackover RB Chas Booth should enjoy the same kind of success he had last week at Hampton where he ripped off 191 yards on 25 carries (7.6 ypc).
JUNCTION CITY (27) at Strong: No. 2 Junction City may not be challenged again until the state semifinals vs. the No. 2 seed from the 6-2A: Des Arc, Carlisle or Hazen.
Woodlawn at BEARDEN (28): Woodlawn starting to get healthy again after sickness and injuries crippled the Bears in 40-0 loss to Carlisle and 20-point win over Norphlet. No. 1 Bearden may not be challenged again until the state semifinals vs. the No. 1 seed from the 6-2A: Des Arc, Carlisle or Hazen.
