GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 4 Conway at No. 7 Springdale Har-Ber.
Big crowd expected for Har-Ber's first game in its new stadium on campus. Conway eliminated Har-Ber from the playoffs 52-42 last November. Winless Har-Ber allows more than 500 yards and 44 points weekly after playing two of the top teams in Missouri. The Wildcats committed five turnovers last week but did put together a 99-yard drive in its 46-22 loss at Kansas City Rockhurst. "This is the youngest team we've had since the school opened (in 2006) and also the toughest non-conference schedule we've faced," says Har-Ber coach Chris Wood. "We're making a lot of mistakes right now."

Conway held off Class 6A Jonesboro 49-28 last Friday despite allowing 486 yards. The Wampus Cats beat No. 5 Cabot 24-22 in the opener. Conway's cool junior quarterback Breylin Smith (6-1, 175) has completed 32 of 49 passes (65 percent) for 574 yards and seven TDs with no interceptions through two games. "Conway is one of the better offenses in the state," says Wood. "They have a seasoned offensive line that allows them to run or throw. You've got to rush more than four guys to get pressure on (Smith) or he will sit back there and pick you apart. He is the X factor."

Har-Ber's defense must limit big plays, a problem the past two weeks in Missouri, to beat Conway. Har-Ber starts two senior cornerbacks and defensive tackle Rickey Dobbins (6-2, 320) has scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Tulsa and others. Conway's defensive front will be challenged by Har-Ber's veteran offensive line, which rotates eight players up front, including five senior starters. Conway senior left tackle Colton Jackson (6-6, 290) committed to the University of Arkansas more than a year ago. GREENWOOD (1) at FS Northside: Greenwood has beaten Northside by an average of 32 points the past two seasons. Greenwood senior QB Reid Wheeler completed 20 of 25 passes for 226 yards and two TDs in last week's 15-10 win over FS Southside. Northside cruised past LR Central in a 32-8 victory. The Grizzlies seized control of the game in the second quarter after junior Noah Bell recovered a muffed punt at the Central 17-yard line. Two plays later, junior RB Luke Bolton ran 8 yards for a score. Senior QB Grant Hood completed 12 of 16 passes for 169 yards, including a 43-yard TD pass to senior Kiondre Thomas. LR Parkview at LR CATHOLIC (9): Parkview has beaten Mills and LR Fair by a combined 75-0 the past two weeks. Winless Catholic is coming off a 62-14 beating at Cabot. Catholic defeated Parkview 43-14 Week 9 last year.
BRYANT (3) at LR Central: Bryant has beat Central seven years in a row, outscoring the Tigers by 132-33 the past five meetings. Bryant boasts a strong offensive line and depth at running back. It worked on its passing game in last week's mercy-rule win over Class 5A LR McClellan. Central's D is solid, just gave up too many big plays in last week's 32-8 loss to No. 3 FS Northside. VAN BUREN (14) at Farmington: Undefeated Van Buren took down Class 5A White Hall 34-27 Week 1 and then Oklahoma's defending Class 4A state runner-up Poteau 41-8 last Friday. Van Buren led Poteau 13-8 at halftime before it forced three turnovers and stopped Poteau twice on fourth down in the final two quarters. Undefeated Farmington is ranked No. 21 out of 32 teams in Class 5A.

7A/6A EAST
Pine Bluff at NORTH LR (7): Thursday night at War Memorial Stadium. North LR had five turnovers and allowed 373 yards (255 rushing) in last week's 43-33 loss at Fayetteville. Fayetteville, 6-0 against North LR since 2000, totaled 24 first downs while North LR had nine. North LR turned three Fayetteville turnovers into TDs and led twice in the second half. University of Arkansas commit K.J. Hill rushed 71 yards on five carries and had four catches for 55 yards. Pine Bluff defeated Watson Chapel 45-12 last week after losing six turnovers in a 26-15 loss Week 1 at FS Northside. CABOT (50) at LR Fair: Cabot bounced back from its 2-point loss a Conway with a convincing 62-14 victory over LR Catholic. It was the most points scored by a Cabot team in at least two decades. Watch highlights of Cabot's Week 1 against Conway here.
West Memphis at WYNNE (14): West Memphis threw two interceptions that were returned for TDs, including a 98-yarder, in the first half of last week's 42-7 loss to Memphis Christian Brothers. The Blue Devils fell short on all 11 of its third-down attempts. Quintavious Coleman ran 62 yards in the fourth quarter for West Memphis' score. Wynne, ranked No. 1 in Class 5A, got three TD passes last week from standout QB Ross Trail. Trail has committed to the University of Cincinnati. FS SOUTHSIDE (7) at Lake Hamilton: Southside rushed for just 56 yards and was penalized 91 yards in last week's 15-10 loss at Class 6A's top-ranked Greenwood. Greenwood QB Reid Wheeler completed 20 of 25 passes for 226 yards against the Rebels. Lake Hamilton broke open a 3-point game late in the third quarter to beat Class 4A Malvern 34-17. Senior RB Josh Nazario turned a short catch from senior QB Jess Ledbetter into a 35-yard TD and also ran 21 yards for a score. Rogers Heritage at NAVASOTA, TEXAS (14): Heritage had no turnovers and held Class 6A Russellville to 218 yards and two field goals in last week's 7-6 win. Navasota, 539 miles from Heritage, is ranked No. 2 in Class 4A in Texas. Heritage High has almost three times more students than Navasota.
Springdale at BIXBY, OKLA. (8): Springdale is winless, losing to Class 6A members Greenwood and Alma by a combined 84-36. Bixby lost its opener to Oklahoma powerhouse Jenks 66-20 before beating East Central 51-21 last Friday. Bixby won at Springdale 45-38 last season.

Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic at BENTONVILLE (1): It's a 2,600-mile round trip for Bergen Catholic (1-1), which was stomped last Thursday by in-state rival St. Peter's Prep 49-20 on ESPNU. Bergen Catholic finished 2-7 a year ago and missed the playoffs for the first time in 44 years. It was Bergan Catholic's worst season since 1961. Bentonville has lost its first two games for the first time since 2003 and suffered its first shutout since 2004 with last Friday's 34-0 loss at Broken Arrow, Okla. FAYETTEVLLE (1) at Muskogee, Okla.: Fayetteville won at Muskogee 27-22 last season, but the Roughers have been outscored 69-7 to start 0-2 this fall. Fayetteville's Luke Rapert carried 32 times for 185 yards, including a 25-yard TD late to seal last week's 43-33 win over North LR.
Rogers at JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (15): Jeff City (3-1) consistently one of the Top 30 programs in Missouri. Rogers rushed for more than 500 yards Week 1 but was limited to just over 200 yards in last week's 17-14 loss at Claremore, Okla. Rogers has never beaten Jeff City.
