HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 4 Nashville at No. 8 Pulaski Robinson
These teams meet for the first time since Nashville's 37-0 first round playoff win in 1971. But Scrapper coach Tim Perry often scrimmaged Pulaski Robinson while coaching at Central Arkansas Christian. "They are the same now as they were (10 years ago)," Perry said. "They run the ball extremely well out of multiple formations. They are big, physical and athletic."
Nashville has won 44 of its past 46 conference games. The Scrappers escaped Ashdown (27-19 victory) last week when senior running back Devencio Hawthorne broke the clinching 35-yard touchdown run with three minutes left. Hawthorne has rushed for 669 yards this year, while senior QB Cole Moore has passed for 1,653 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Pulaski Robinson's potent rushing attack averages 38 points per game. Senator senior running back Jaalen Watkins has rushed for more than 700 yards this year, while Terrell Thompson has gained almost 700 yards. Senior Evain Hill has generated more than 1,000 all-purpose yards this year. Hill has caught four TD passes, ran for two scores and returned two punts for TDs. "It's going to boil down to our offensive line and if we can open some holes and run the ball," said Pulaski Robinson coach Todd Eskola.
TV SHOW
Hooten's Arkansas Football will NOT air this week, but returns Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. on Fox 16 and KFSM in Fort Smith/Fayetteville.

WEEK 8 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
1-4A
Farmington at OZARK (6): The winner could finish as the No. 3 playoff seed. Ozark gives up 16 points per game. Farmington led Gravette until the fourth quarter last week but lost by 18 points.
GENTRY (16) at Berryville: Gentry guarantees itself a playoff berth with two wins in the final three games. Berryville trailed Prairie Grove 21-14 late in the second quarter but gave up 21 unanswered points.
PRAIRIE GROVE (3) at Pea Ridge: Prairie Grove must string together victories if it's to make the playoffs. Tiger sophomore running back Weston Bartholomew rushed for 183 yards and three TDs in last week's 28-point win over Berryville.
SHILOH CHRISTIAN (35) at Gravette: Shiloh Christian has scored TDs on its first two snaps each of the past three weeks. Saint senior QB Kyle Frazier has passed for 1,324 yards and 19 TDs and ran for 515 yards and nine scores this year. Undefeated Gravette gives up nine points per game. Gravette junior Darrick Strzelecki has rushed for more than 1,000 yards and 15 TDs.
2-4A
Cave City at STUTTGART (21): Cave City gives up 41 points per game. Stuttgart's six-point win over Newport in Week 6 looms large in the playoff tiebreaker system.
CLINTON (3) at Newport: Clinton's defense limited Stuttgart to a fourth-quarter TD in last week's 22-point victory. Newport has lost consecutive games and couldn't slow Heber Springs' rushing attack last week.
HEBER SPRINGS (25) at Southside Batesville: Southside Batesville QB Jared Dahl has passed for more than 1,600 yards this year. Heber Springs junior running back Markyveus Mays has rushed for 1,131 yards and 12 TDs.
LONOKE (7) at Marianna: The winner probably secures a playoff berth. Lonoke scored 41 points in the first half against Cave City last week. Marianna has won consecutive games for the first time since 2007.
3-4A
GOSNELL (7) at Pocahontas: Gosnell averages 42 points per game. Pirate QB Gavin Sullivan has produced 1,823 total yards and 16 TDs this fall. Pocahontas likely makes the playoffs with one more victory.
Highland at OSCEOLA (1): Highland rallied from a 21-point third-quarter deficit last week and downed Gosnell by one point. Sophomore QB Sterling Stowers has accounted for almost 1,400 yards of offense this season. Osceola salvaged a one-point win over Pocahontas last week by stuffing a two-point conversion attempt.
VALLEY VIEW (31) at Jonesboro Westside: Valley View likely hosts Gosnell in Week 10 for the conference title and title playoff seed. Jonesboro Westside gives up 37 points a week.
Trumann is open.
4-4A
BOONEVILLE (31) at Waldron: Booneville senior QB Brock May established the school record with his 22nd career TD pass in last week's 35-point win over Clarksville. Running back Talor Tatterson has churned out 1,024 yards this season.
Dover at CLARKSVILLE (7): Dover QB Colton Williams (more than 1,000 yards) missed most of last week's game against Pottsville after spraining his ankle. "It's doubtful he plays this week, but it's up to him," said assistant coach Mark Tucker. Clarksville has given up 114 points the past two weeks.
Pottsville at MENA (10): Undefeated Mena can't overlook the Apaches while bracing for late regular-season showdowns with Subiaco Academy and Booneville. Pottsville freshman QB Michael Perry ran for a pair of TDs and passed for another in last week's 35-8 win over Dover.
SUBIACO ACADEMY (2) at Dardanelle: Subiaco Academy QB Marquis Walters has generated almost 1,200 total yards this year. Dardanelle can make the playoffs with two wins in the final three games.
7-4A
DeQueen at ASHDOWN (21): Ashdown must win after losing consecutive games. Junior Davonte Forte returned a kickoff 88 yards for a TD and an interception 37 yards for a score in last week's eight-point loss to Nashville. Winless DeQueen averages just eight points per game.
PULASKI ACADEMY (23) at Malvern: Pulaski Academy racked up 532 yards in the first half of last week's 43-point win at Bauxite. Malvern two-way lineman and University of Arkansas commit Grady Ollison has made 47 tackles this season.
PULASKI OAK GROVE (13) at Bauxite: Pulaski Oak Grove needs to win its final three games to make the playoffs. Bauxite have given up 107 points the past two weeks.
NASHVILLE (6) at Pulaski Robinson: Hootens.com Game of the Week.
8-4A
DeWitt at DUMAS (21): Dumas must shake last week's four-point loss to Star City. The Bobcats squandered a late lead after fumbling in the middle of the fourth quarter. Dumas has beaten DeWitt four straight times since the rivalry renewed in 2006, winning by an average of 43-7.
Lake Village at STAR CITY (24): Star City captures the league's top playoff seed with two more wins. Bulldog senior QB Ty Towers has rushed 674 yards and nine TDs this year.
DOLLARWAY (6) at Hamburg: Dollarway continues scoring with its passing game but the Cardinals need a consistent ground attack. Hamburg won its first league game of the year after recovering a Lake Village fumble in overtime a week ago.
Warren at MCGEHEE (1): McGehee last beat Warren 45-19 in Week 8, 2000. The Lumberjacks have won nine straight over McGehee by an average of 28 points. McGehee's T'Cambry Green ran for 128 yards and three TDs in last week's 12-point win at Dollarway.
