GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 10 Mountain Home at No. 7 Sylvan Hills.
Sylvan Hills, which won a league title last fall before losing by 1-point in the semfinals, is the only East conference team favored in the first round. The Bears fumbled twice inside Searcy's 10-yard line last Thursday but still won 33-7 after losing back-to-back weeks to the conference's top seeds (Jonesboro and El Dorado) by a combined 85-37. Sylvan Hills' run-oriented Flexbone attack scores 28.4 points per game. The Bears did not attempt a pass against Searcy.
Mountain Home has played far better competition, including the state's Top 4 ranked teams, and been outscored 29.4 PPG to 21.4 PPG weekly. Junior QB Brady Barnett leads Mountain Home rushers with 639 yards and he has passed for 793 yards. Junior receivers Dillon Drewery (311 yards) and Blake Bentley (213 yards and 3 TDs) are Barnett's top targets. Senior end Moses Adams leads the Bombers with 91 tackles and seven sacks. Sophomore end Robert Dover (6-4, 205) has recored 14 TFLs and seven sacks.
Mountain Home won at Pine Bluff 24-20 in the first-round last season before losing at eventual state champion Greenwood 49-13.
“Mountain Home uses a lot of formations and motion on offense and their defensive line plays the run vey well,” says Sylvan Hills coach Chris Hill.

RUSSELLVILLE (7) at Marion: Marion is playing host  to a playoff game for the sixth consecutive season, but the Patriots have never played Russellville in football. Senior Cam Anderson, who led Marion with 645 yards rushing last season, carried 38 times for 319 yards and four TDs in last week’s upset of East #1 seed Jonesboro. It was Marion’s fourth win over Jonesboro in five seasons despite turning its over twice early in the redzone. Marion senior QB Ben Gerrard, who missed the previous two games with injury, returned to pass for 244 yards and three TDs (both career highs). Russellville, voted to fnish last in the 6A West by conference coaches, won more games this fall under new Coach Dave Wheeler than the previous two seasons combined. Russellville ripped Mountain Home and Siloam Springs (1-9) the past two weeks by a combined 97-28. The Cyclones lost to Class 5A Vilonia (40-28) Week 4 and were outscored by the West's Top 4 teams by an average score of 44-14.

Lake Hamilton's O-line averages 279 pounds but look for its D-line to have a big night as well against West Memphis, which scored a TD or less in four games this fall and avareges just 12.9 PPG. West Memphis made the playoffs with 1-point wins over No. 15 Pine Bluff and No. 16 Sheridan and a forfeit over Marion.
