No. 2 Prescott at No. 3 Harding Academy
Two of the top quarterbacks in the state on stage at First Security Stadium. Prescott's Trevor Pipkin has completed 277 of 370 passes (75 percent) this year for 3,965 yards and 44 touchdowns with four interceptions. Harding Academy's Alex Francis has passed for 3,262 yards and 42 TDs, completing 246 of 376 passes (65 percent) with six INTs.
Prescott mercy-ruled Lamar 53-28 last week to reach the semifinals for the first time in three years. The Curley Wolves have won 10 straight games since a 47-22 loss at Class 5A Hope, scoring 49 points weekly. Prescott likes to use its screen game to isolate its athletes in space but the Curley Wolves can also run the ball. Prescott ran the outside zone last week after Lamar took away its screen game. Pipkin, one of 18 seniors, ran 12 times for 117 yards and passed for 194 yards and three TDs. Junior running back Carlos Vanhook rushed for 137 yards and four TDs, including an 80-yarder. Pipkin distributes the ball to seniors Brandon Walker (77 catches, 1,115 yards, 11 TDs in 2015) and Dequan Malone (660 yards, six TDs), junior Tyler Rucker (398 yards, five TDs) and talented sophomore KaDarius Pearson (73 catches, 1,238 yards, nine TDs). Vanhook paces the Curley Wolves with 125 carries for 1,326 yards (10.6 yards per carry) and 22 TDs. Prescott is one of four Class 3A teams that have defeated Harding Academy since Coach Roddy Mote took over in 2008. The Curley Wolves eliminated Harding 41-14 in the second round of the 2008 playoffs.
Harding Academy, also in the semifinals for the first time in three years, has won 11 games in a row since a 47-20 loss at Class 5A Vilonia. The Wildcats rallied last week to win at 4-3A champ Danville 22-14. Francis threw three TD passes in the second half, including a 63-yarder to sophomore Gabe Chapman. Chapman leads Harding this fall with 111 carries for 685 yards (6.2 ypc) and 10 TDs, and he's caught 29 passes for 424 yards and two scores. The Wildcats spread the field with senior Luke Fouts (36 catches, 502 yards, 14 TDs), junior Ryan Turley (31 catches, 386 yards, five TDs) and sophomores Travis Turley (57 catches, 824 yards, 10 TDs) and Peydon Harlow (42 catches, 683 yards, eight TDs). Harding has the better defense and will need to create turnovers, disrupt Pipkin's timing and tackle well in space. Senior LB Ty Mote, the coach's son, paces the Wildcats with 70 tackles (15 TFL). Senior end Miles Clements, who missed four weeks with an injury, has racked up 28 stops (13 TFL) over the past five weeks.

No. 7 Rivercrest at No. 1 Smackover
This game will be played at El Dorado's Memorial Stadium.
Rivercrest beat Cedarville, Episcopal Collegiate and Glen Rose to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2010. The Colts claimed a share of the 3-3A title this fall, beating Hoxie 48-42 Week 6 but losing the following week at Manila 39-21. Last week, the Colts intercepted two passes and recovered two fumbles in a 20-7 win over Glen Rose. All-state senior RB Cecil Langston dashed 60 yards for a TD. Senior FB Brayden Wilson rushed for 82 yards and a score. Junior QB Kesler Pierce threw a 42-yard TD pass to junior Preston Wilson. Freshman safety Kentavious Robinson has recorded 42 tackles over the past four weeks, including 16 against Glen Rose. Preston Wilson and his brother, Brayden, lead Rivercrest this year with 84 and 82 tackles, respectively. Langston paces the Colts with 294 carries for 2,856 yards (9.7 ypc) and 33 TDs. Langston (5,900 career yards, 62 TDs) needs 109 yards and three TDs to become the school's all-time leading rusher.
Smackover advances to the semifinals for the third straight season. The Buckaroos have won 25 of their past 27 games against Class 3A opponents, losing to Glen Rose in the 2013 semifinals and Charleston in last year's state title game. Smackover edged 1-3A champ West Fork 15-6 last week (West Fork led 6-0 in the second quarter). Senior receiver and Hog commit Jordan Jones hauled in two TDs, including a 39-yard halfback pass from senior Keiandre Purifoy. Three weeks ago, the Buckaroos mercy-ruled Manila, building a 35-0 lead with 8:14 left in the second quarter. Purifoy starts at running back and linebacker, plays QB in certain situations, kicks and punts. He leads Smackover this year with 122 carries for 820 yards (6.7 ypc) and 17 TDs. Jones has 32 receptions for 640 yards (20 yards per catch) and 10 TDs. Purifoy (109 tackles), senior LB Willie Davis (team-high 127 tackles) and senior DL/LB Trevor Eppinette (119 tackles) lead on defense.
