STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME RECAP
Harding Academy claimed its second state title in four seasons with a 33-18 victory over Rivercrest. Senior quarterback Alex Francis completed 22 of 33 passes for 308 yards, tossing two touchdowns to senior Luke Fouts. The Wildcats held their five playoff opponents to a combined 27 points in the second half. Francis passed for 3,955 yards and 49 TDs this year. Harding's leading rusher (Gabe Chapman) and top two receivers (Travis Turley and Peydon Harlow) return in 2016 as juniors. Harlow finished second on the tackle chart with 71 stops. Sophomore outside linebacker Dalton Koch recorded a team-high 17 tackles for loss.
Rivercrest senior running back Cecil Langston ran 29 times for 162 yards and two TDs against Harding. Langston set a new state record this fall, rushing for 3,202 yards. He finishes his career with 6,246 yards, sixth most in state history.

FARM BUREAU AWARDS
The Farm Bureau Awards will be held Monday, December 14 in North Little Rock. Finalists for Class 3A Offensive Player of the Year are Episcopal Collegiate's Allie Freeman, Prescott's Trevor Pipkin and Rivercrest's Cecil Langston. Finalists for Class 3A Defensive Player of the Year are Glen Rose's Jordan Johnson, Marianna's Jermarcus Arnold and Smackover's Keiandre Purifoy. Finalists for Class 3A Coach of the Year are Danville's D.J. Crane, Harding Academy's Roddy Mote and Rivercrest's Kelly Chandler.
