Hootens.com Game of the Week
No. 10 Lonoke at No. 7 Warren

Lonoke knocked Warren out in the second round last season 45-24. The Jackrabbits tied for second in the 2-4A, despite losing their opening two league games by a total of 35 points. They've ripped off six straight wins since, including victories of playoff teams Stuttgart (39-27), Clinton (48-13) and Clarksville (48-21) the past three weeks.

Jackrabbit running back Brandon Smith has rushed 152 times for 1,542 yards and 19 touchdowns this year, and he's caught 11 passes for 157 yards and a score. Senior quarterback Michael Nelson adds balance to the Spread attack, passing for 1,874 yards and 13 TDs, and rushing for 450 yards and six scores. Nelson's calming demeanor on the field helps the Jackrabbits, who haven't committed a turnover in the past two games. Lonoke's aggressive defense puts pressure on its secondary. Senior cornerback Brandon O'Bannon paces the Jackrabbits with 85 tackles, while Todd Hopson and Wes Plummer have swiped five interceptions each.

Warren is in the second round of the playoffs for the sixth straight season and ninth time in 10 years. The Lumberjacks torched Lake Village and Clinton by a combined 87-23 the past two weeks, their most dominating two-game stretch of the season. Senior QB Hayden Smith has passed for 2,056 yards and 24 TDs this year. Raheim Alford and Jalen Cobb "look like Division I receivers," Lonoke coach Doug Bost said. "And their overall team speed jumps out at you. Smith can throw the ball all over the field." Warren's defense held its final five conference opponents to a TD or less.

Week 12 Predictions (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
Top of the Bracket

Malvern at BOONEVILLE (7): This is a rematch of last year's memorable first-round game, which Booneville won 30-29 when Juan Rios hit a field goal with 1.4 seconds left.  Booneville sports an all-time home playoff record of 30-6, and the Bearcats are 200-43-1 at home since 1968. Malvern's 38-0 win over McGehee last week was its first in the playoffs since 1997.

Lonoke at WARREN (4): Hootens.com Game of the Week. A rematch of last year's second round game that Lonoke won by 21 points.

ASHDOWN (1) at Osceola: Osceola only led Huntsville 21-14 at halftime before pulling away 48-14 last week. Seminole running back Tony Dancy has rushed for 1,918 yards and 25 TDs this season. Ashdown lacks depth (only 34 players on the roster), but the Panthers average 42 points a game with junior QB Chris McFadden (more than 1,500 total yards).

HEBER SPRINGS (2) at Gravette: These teams have never played. Heber Springs looks to advance to the quarterfinals for the second straight season. Panther senior running back Braylon Mitchell has rushed for more than 1,400 yards and 23 TDs this season. Valley View gained just 101 yards against Gravette last week. Kicker Cody Montee kicked four field goals and accounted for every Lion point in the 12-7 decision over Valley View.

Bottom of the Bracket
DeQueen at SHILOH CHRISTIAN (18): DeQueen's four losses are to teams with a combined record of 40-4, and the Leopards played Class 5A unbeaten Monticello closer than anyone in the state (27-13 loss during Simmons First/Hootens.com Kickoff Week). Shiloh Christian QB Kiehl Frazier (2,857 yards and 39 TDs) has multiple Division I scholarship offers. His favorite target, junior Zann Jones (54 catches, 871 yards and eight TDs) could become the next Saint to gain the attention of college recruiters.

Prairie Grove at NASHVILLE (16): The Scrappers quarterfinal showdown at top-ranked Shiloh Christian looms. Scrapper junior QB Cole Moore (2,492 yards and 20 TDs) paces an offense that averages 43 ppg. Prairie Grove will try to keep the Scrapper offense on the sideline by offering a heavy dose of running back Thomas Soehner (1,586 yards and 29 TDs in 2009).

Star City at BALD KNOB (7): Unbeaten Bald Knob notched its second playoff win in school history last week, blasting Subiaco Academy 43-17.
