Rogers 84, Sheridan 40
ROGERS — Rogers erupted for touchdowns on its first two plays from scrimmage and never slowed down, defeating Sheridan 84–40 in a high-scoring 7A-6A matchup Friday night. Senior quarterback Jeff Regan accounted for five total touchdowns, while wideout Braxton Lindsay scored three times and returned an interception for a touchdown to lead the Mounties.
Sheridan kept pace early behind senior quarterback Dax McMillan, who hit Dylan Smith for a 35-yard score and later found JP Black for two long touchdown receptions. Running back Isaiah “Zay” Stevens added an 80-yard touchdown run and a two-point catch, while Smith electrified the crowd with a 90-yard kickoff return.
Rogers’ quick-strike offense featured touchdown grabs by Drake Voke and Parker Nicks, plus a punishing ground game from Titus Kramer, who added second-half scores. Lindsay’s pick-six before halftime pushed Rogers comfortably ahead, and Sheridan’s defense couldn’t contain Rean’s scrambling and deep throws.
Despite the final margin, Sheridan showed flashes of explosiveness with 40 points against a defense that had surrendered just nine points in its first two games. Rogers, meanwhile, again looked like a contender in the 7A West, rolling up more than 600 yards of offense and spreading touchdowns among multiple playmakers.
