Prater Accounts for Four Touchdowns as Prescott Tops Ashdown

ASHDOWN — Quarterback Desmond Prater ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as Prescott defeated Ashdown 42-6 Friday. The Curley Wolves improved to 2-0, with Prater contributing 110 yards passing and 67 rushing.
Cornerback Keimon Benton intercepted a pass on Ashdown’s opening possession, but the Panthers stopped Prescott on downs. The Curley Wolves later drove 77 yards, finishing with Prater’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Rhett Cornish for a 7-0 lead with 4:13 remaining in the first quarter.
Running back Kayden Gleason’s 32-yard run set up Prater’s 3-yard touchdown keeper with 7:55 left in the second quarter. Ashdown’s Cordae Baker intercepted a fourth-down pass on Prescott’s next possession.
After forcing a punt, Prescott scored on Prater’s 17-yard run, taking a 21-0 lead into halftime.
Prater converted fourth-and-14 with a pass to Owen Glass on Prescott’s opening possession of the second half. He finished the drive with a 6-yard touchdown run, extending the lead to 28-0.
Ashdown’s Ahmari Spencer intercepted a pass late in the third quarter, setting up a two-play, 50-yard scoring drive. Bryson French caught a 9-yard pass before Baker scored on a 41-yard run with 11:22 remaining. The two-point pass fell incomplete, leaving Prescott ahead 28-6.
The Panthers forced a punt on Prescott’s next series. The Curley Wolves answered with a fourth-down stop at Ashdown’s 40, then drove for Tiden McKillion’s 12-yard touchdown run with 3:37 left.
Glass intercepted a pass on the ensuing possession. Bryce Block’s 24-yard run moved Prescott to the 1, and Treyvion Evans scored from there with 1:50 remaining. Cornish made all six extra points.
Gleason led Prescott with 81 rushing yards on 11 carries. McKillion added 69 yards rushing and a touchdown, while Cornish collected 55 receiving yards and a score. Prescott finished with 241 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
