Thomas Accounts for Seven Touchdowns as Hamburg Remains Unbeaten

HAMBURG — Kaeden Thomas accounted for seven touchdowns and 441 yards of offense as Hamburg defeated Camden Fairview 55-28 Friday, Sept. 11, at Campbell Field.
The senior quarterback rushed 27 times for 262 yards and five touchdowns and completed 12 of 20 passes for 179 yards and two scores. Hamburg improved to 3-0.
Linebacker Aiden Robinson forced a fumble on the opening play, setting up Thomas’ 6-yard touchdown run. Camden Fairview answered with Brodie Dow’s 33-yard touchdown pass before Thomas scored from 5 yards.
Demarion Robinson’s 77-yard touchdown run pulled the Cardinals within 14-12. Thomas then threw a 2-yard scoring pass to Charles Mooney, giving Hamburg a 21-12 lead after one quarter.
In the second quarter, Thomas connected with Jade Canley for an 8-yard touchdown. Jay’Shon Goodwin added a 21-yard scoring run for a 35-12 advantage.
Dow’s second touchdown pass, followed by Demarion Robinson’s two-point run, trimmed the margin to 35-20. Thomas answered with an 11-yard touchdown run with 1:05 remaining before halftime, sending Hamburg into the break ahead 41-20.
Camden Fairview opened the second half by stopping Hamburg on fourth down. The Cardinals then drove for a 1-yard touchdown run and converted for two points, cutting the deficit to 41-28.
Thomas answered with a 13-yard touchdown run, then scored again on fourth-and-one early in the fourth quarter. Hamburg’s defense forced consecutive three-and-outs after Camden Fairview’s final touchdown.
Mooney caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown; Canley added three receptions for 70 yards and a score. Aiden Robinson finished with 10 tackles, including two for loss and one sack.
Hamburg totaled 574 yards, with 395 rushing. Goodwin finished with 55 yards on 12 carries. The Lions converted another fourth down during their final possession, held the ball for the last 10-plus minutes and ended the game with a kneel-down.
