GAME OF THE WEEK:
UAM (0-3) at Arkansas Tech (2-1): Arkansas Tech struggled to move the football in the first half last week and did not score its first touchdown until the fourth quarter in its 17-point loss to Ouachita Baptist. The Wonder Boys finished with more than 350 yards of offense, but establishing the run (67 yards) was an issue. UAM is winless but seems to be improving each week. The Boll Weevils’ balance on offense (203 pass, 218 rush) keeps opponents on their toes. Big upset this week as UAM goes on the road and wins in Russellville.
WEEK 4 PREDICTIONS
Predicted winner in ORANGE
No. 1 HARDING (3-0) at No. 3 Ouachita Baptist (2-1): Harding controlled the line of scrimmage last week in its big win over SAU, pulling away late in the first half and early in the second half thanks to 2 touchdown runs by freshman Jeff Regan (Rogers). That 14-point swing proved to be decisive as the Bisons pulled away. OBU went on the road and defeated Arkansas Tech, which is coached by former OBU defensive coordinator Roy Thompson. OBU piled up nearly 300 rushing yards and played well in both phases. The Tigers jumped to a 13-0 lead and never looked back. Harding and Ouachita will be fun to watch. Both teams are running the football well, but the Bisons edge the Tigers on the road this week to move to 4-0.
No. 2 HENDERSON STATE (3-0) at No. 5 Southern Arkansas (1-1): SAU led early and trailed 10-7 against Harding just before halftime last week before things got away from the Muleriders. SAU’s defense gave up 2 scores to freshman Jeff Regan in that stretch. Henderson defeated UAM behind senior QB Austin Ledbetter (Bryant), the GAC Offensive Player of the Week. Ledbetter completed 22 of 26 passes for 399 yards and 4 touchdowns. Experience at QB and offensive efficiency helped the Reddies knock off the Muleriders this week.
