Prater Throws Four TD Passes as Prescott Opens Conference Play With Shutout

PRESCOTT — Desmond Prater threw four first-quarter touchdown passes, and Prescott scored on all 10 possessions in a 70-0 victory over Cossatot River Friday night in the conference opener.
The Curley Wolves intercepted three passes, turned each takeaway into a touchdown and improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Eight players scored touchdowns, with Wes Cornelius catching two scoring passes and Kayden Gleason adding two rushing touchdowns and an interception.
Prescott opened with a 53-yard drive, finishing with Prater’s 6-yard slant pass to Cornelius with 10:25 left in the first quarter. Rhett Cornish added the extra point. On the next possession, Owen Glass caught a 27-yard pass and Tiden McKillion ran for 20 yards before Gleason scored to make it 14-0.
Prater’s next touchdown came on an 18-yard receiver screen to Treyvion Evans. Cornelius and Glass supplied blocks downfield, and Evans broke a tackle before reaching the end zone.
Evans then intercepted a pass, giving Prescott possession at the Eagles’ 33. Prater found Cornelius across the middle on the next snap for a touchdown with 2:45 remaining in the quarter.
Gleason intercepted Cossatot River’s next pass, and Prater immediately connected with Cornish for another touchdown. Cornish broke through a tackle and extended the ball across the goal line. On the conversion, holder Glass threw to Curtis Stockton for two points, making it 36-0 with 2:27 left in the opening quarter.
Brian Woodley contributed a tackle for a 7-yard loss during an early defensive stop. Brayden Sheets also made stops at the line as Prescott forced punts on the Eagles’ first two possessions.
McKillion scored on a 20-yard run on the first play of the second quarter, following a lead block from Conley Crayne. Gleason added a 30-yard touchdown run. Later, Evans turned a short pass into a 29-yard gain, helping set up Bryce Block’s 33-yard touchdown run with 4:08 left in the half. Prescott led 56-0 at the break.
Cossatot River’s Noah Brandon returned a second-quarter kickoff into Prescott territory. Isaiah Dixon later gained 15 yards from the Eagles’ 2-yard line, and quarterback Jace Shouse added a first-down keeper before halftime.
Shouse converted fourth-and-two on a sneak during the Eagles’ opening second-half possession. The drive reached Prescott territory before Stockton made a tackle for a 5-yard loss and Jhermiah Gulley intercepted a fourth-down pass.
Cornish took over at quarterback and completed a 49-yard pass to Javarie Hudson, who scored from the 1 on the next play. In the fourth quarter, Jacks Kisselburg’s 37-yard run helped set up Crayne’s 2-yard touchdown with 5:48 remaining. Prescott’s defense finished the shutout, with Block making a tackle for loss on the final play.
