Osceola’s Four-Touchdown Second Quarter Leads to Conference-Opening Win

OSCEOLA — Dallas McNeal recovered two kickoffs to set up touchdowns, and Osceola scored 28 second-quarter points to defeat Piggott 41-0 Friday night at Seminole Stadium in the 3-3A opener.
The Seminoles improved to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference. Piggott is 0-4 and 0-1. Deion Spears completed 10 of 13 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns, according to the broadcast’s statistics. Kylan Bragg rushed 10 times for 102 yards and a touchdown, while E’Kylin Perez caught six passes for 100 yards and a score. All three produced those totals before halftime.
McNeal recovered the opening kickoff at Piggott’s 29. Khamajh Poole’s sweep moved Osceola to the 14, and Bragg’s run set up first-and-goal at the 4. Fabious Hughes finished with a 4-yard touchdown run, and Deizel Freeman’s extra point made it 7-0.
Piggott’s defense kept that margin intact through the first quarter. After Osceola reached the 6 on its next possession, the Mohawks forced a turnover on downs with a fourth-and-goal stop. Quarterback Mattheau Meuir followed with a 16-yard keeper and later converted a third down with a run to Piggott’s 44.
Osceola’s defense stopped that possession, and Bragg carried the next touchdown drive. He ran for three first downs before Perez caught a pass to the 8. Bragg scored from there with 6:50 remaining in the second quarter, and Freeman’s kick made it 14-0.
The Seminoles then scored twice in 40 seconds. After stopping a run from punt formation, Osceola took over at Piggott’s 32. Spears found Perez for a 28-yard touchdown with 3:14 left.
Austin Scott and Freeman helped stop Piggott’s next possession, while Osceola used three timeouts to preserve time. A punt gave the Seminoles possession at the Mohawks’ 26. Spears needed one play, finding Julius Jones for a touchdown with 2:34 remaining. Freeman’s extra points after both passes pushed the lead to 28-0.
McNeal recovered the ensuing kickoff, giving Osceola another possession. Bragg ran for a first down, and Jaylon Cannon’s 17-yard reception converted third-and-9 and moved the ball to the 5. Marvell Carr scored on a 4-yard run with 34 seconds left. Freeman converted his fifth extra point for a 35-0 halftime lead.
Piggott recovered a fumble on Osceola’s first snap of the third quarter and advanced to the Seminoles’ 14. Krisean James ended the threat by tackling Meuir at the 15 on fourth down.
Adrian Davis scored on the next play, breaking free for an 85-yard touchdown run. The extra point missed, leaving Osceola ahead 41-0.
Meuir connected with Kyle Poole for a fourth-and-7 conversion during Piggott’s final possession. Osceola later stopped the drive at midfield and maintained the shutout through a scoreless fourth quarter.
The broadcast credited Osceola with 328 yards of offense, including 184 rushing. The Seminoles’ defense limited Piggott to 72 yards, with Garrison Cook, Willie Robinson, Freeman and Scott contributing stops against the run.
