Judah Summers ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as Bryant built a 21-0 first-quarter lead and beat Fort Smith Northside 48-0 Friday night at Mayo-Thompson Stadium.

The Hornets improved to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in the 7A-Central. They led 28-0 at halftime, then reached the 35-point margin that started the running clock on their opening possession of the third quarter.

Bryant needed three plays to cover 37 yards on its first scoring drive. Kyler Shelby picked up a low snap and ran 23 yards to the Northside 14. After a completion to Evan Hicks, Shelby found Chase Slater for an 8-yard touchdown with 10:14 left in the first quarter.

Summers took over for the next possession and immediately connected with Quinton Sykes for a 46-yard gain to the 4. Brandon Johnson scored on the next play, giving Bryant a 14-0 lead after the extra point.

Terriun Jones intercepted a pass on Northside’s next possession and returned it to the Grizzlies’ 5, but Northside stopped Bryant on fourth down. The Hornets’ defense forced another punt, and Summers finished the ensuing possession with a 1-yard touchdown run with 4:24 left in the quarter. His third-down scramble had moved the ball to the 1.

Bryant’s defense continued to push Northside backward. Quinterious Waller tackled Keelan Mendoza for a 4-yard loss on a screen, and Deandre Brewer and Brendan Hill combined to bring down Jaseir Posey for a 9-yard sack early in the second quarter.

Northside briefly created an opportunity with a reverse-pass play, but Malik Shipp intercepted a pass to end the threat. Bryant took over at its own 8 and drove the length of the field. Summers finished with a 1-yard run with 2:28 remaining in the half, extending the lead to 28-0.

Anthony Ellis returned the second-half kickoff to the Northside 25. Summers completed a pass through traffic to Crews Thomason, then kept the ball for his third rushing touchdown. The extra point made it 35-0.

Northside linebacker Jonah Caldarera intercepted a pass in each half, picking off Summers late in the first quarter and Shelby in the third. The Grizzlies could not turn either takeaway into points.

Summers converted second-and-18 with a 19-yard run on a later possession. Early in the fourth quarter, Kaleb Leak carried to the 5, and Tavian Morris followed with a touchdown run. J.D. Olson’s extra point pushed the lead to 42-0.

Summers supplied the final touchdown with a pass to Logan Lee in the end zone. The extra point missed, leaving Bryant with seven touchdowns and its defense with a shutout. Jones and Shipp each intercepted a pass, while Shipp also broke up a third-down throw and delivered a 51-yard punt.
