Charlie Kroell scored three rushing touchdowns and returned a kickoff for another score as Shiloh Christian defeated Rogers Heritage 44-11 Friday night in Springdale.

Max Eldridge added two rushing touchdowns and a two-point conversion for the Saints, who built a 30-0 halftime lead and remained unbeaten at 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the 7A-West. Heritage fell to 0-7 and 0-4.

Shiloh struck quickly after forcing a punt on the opening possession. Starting at midfield, the Saints followed an incomplete pass with a 16-yard run by Jake Bodenstein. Kroell broke through the middle on the next play for the game’s first touchdown. A tipped pass was caught for the two-point conversion, giving Shiloh an 8-0 lead.

Heritage moved the ball on its next possession before Colton Miller intercepted a pass. The War Eagles recovered a Shiloh fumble to end the ensuing threat, but the Saints forced another punt and again took over at midfield.

Eldridge finished that possession with a 29-yard touchdown run with 48 seconds left in the first quarter. He also scored on the two-point attempt, extending the lead to 16-0.

A Heritage fourth-down play ended with a loose ball that the War Eagles recovered short of the line to gain early in the second quarter. Shiloh answered with another scoring drive. Bodenstein broke a long run before Camden Isbell brought him down, and Kroell eventually scored from the 9. The extra point made it 23-0 with 8:10 remaining in the half.

After another stop on downs, Shiloh turned to Eldridge. He converted a third-and-short, added another first-down run and finished from the 17 with 2:57 left. The Saints took their 30-0 advantage into halftime even though the broadcast credited Heritage with 18:09 of first-half possession.

Heritage tried an onside kick to open the second half, but Shiloh recovered. Kroell scored on the first offensive play, breaking into the open and pulling away to the end zone. The extra point stretched the lead to 37-0 with 11:22 left in the third quarter.

The War Eagles got on the board when Ronald Vizuet kicked a 45-yard field goal with 4:33 remaining in the period. Olajuwan Smith had helped keep that drive alive by converting fourth-and-10 on a run.

Heritage then recovered another Shiloh fumble, with Aiden Armijo coming away with the ball. Julien Castaneda found Edwin Reyes for a touchdown pass, and Jace Melber added the two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 37-11 with 59.7 seconds left in the third.

Kroell answered immediately, taking the ensuing kickoff back for his fourth touchdown. The extra point completed the scoring at 44-11.

Heritage drove into Shiloh territory again in the fourth quarter, but the Saints intercepted a pass in the end zone. Shiloh then kept possession for the rest of the game, finishing with consecutive carries by Ethan Kelly.
