No. 5 GREENBRIER (3-0) at No. 7 Morrilton (3-0): This battle of unbeaten teams has playoff and conference title implications.
Morrilton has won 12 of the past 22 meetings against Greenbrier, including 45-42 last fall. The Devil Dogs have beaten Class 6A Russellville, Arkansas High (Texarkana), and White Hall this fall by a combined 145-66. Morrilton scored a defensive touchdown, then followed with offensive TDs on its first 6 drives in a 56-6 win at White Hall 2 weeks ago. Senior QB Maddox Berry (16-19 passing, 203 yards, 4 TDs) and senior WR Jamarcus Sandidge (9-97 receiving, 3 TDs) led the offense. Senior CB Jeremiah Smallwood intercepted 3 passes, returning 1 for a TD.
Greenbrier has beaten Class 4A Warren, Class 6A Russellville, and Van Buren by a combined 146-71 this season. Senior Enoch Assan (69-698 rushing; 4-100 receiving; 13 total TDs) spearheads the offense, along with QB Jack Palmer (39-51 passing, 822 yards, 7 TDs, 0 INTs). Senior safety Ethan Smith leads the Panthers’ defense with 30 tackles and 2 interceptions; linebackers Rupe Adams and Ace Newland have combined for 47 tackles.

No. 18 Beebe (2-1) at No. 10 MAUMELLE (1-2): Maumelle has won 5 of the past 9 in the series, but Beebe won 22-0 a year ago.
Maumelle bounced back from a 0-2 start with a 38-24 win over Vilonia 2 weeks ago. Junior QB Levi Warrior passed for 221 yards and 1 TD; senior RBs Jacob Henry (8-82 yards) and Bubba Johnson (11-72-2 TDs) controlled the ground game. Freshman kicker Dylan Moran was 5 of 5 on extra points and kicked a 30-yard field goal.
Beebe dropped its opener to Vilonia 6-3, but has victories at Nettleton 32-14 and Greene County Tech 21-20 the past 2 games. Senior Curtis Goodrich leads the Badgers rushing attack with 372 yards and 2 TDs in 3 games; QB Ty McCormick has accounted for 5 TDs (3 passing, 2 rushing); Kam Johnson has 138 yards receiving with 22 tackles on defense.
No. 19 Jacksonville (2-1) at No. 16 PINE BLUFF (0-3) at UAPB: Pine Bluff will play its home games at UAPB this fall.
The Zebras haven’t lost to Jacksonville in more than 30 years (won 7 straight since 2002). But Pine Bluff is winless this fall, dropping its past 2 games at Kimball, Texas, in overtime and at Camden Fairview by a combined 11 points. Pine Bluff senior DT Emmanuel Hudson and senior TE Quinton Roy have been team leaders, along with RB/LB Kevin Pope. Jacksonville bounced back from an opening loss to beat Lonoke 25-24 and DeWitt 28-20. Mason Ball (603 rushing, 8 TDs) and Matthew Goldsberry (20-250 receiving, 2 TDs) lead the offense. Torrey Trotter and Lamyron Smith each have 37 tackles. “We have to stop their running game,” Pine Bluff Coach Michael Williams says.
NR White Hall (0-3) at No. 6 SEARCY (3-0): Winless White Hall has been outscored 142-48 in losses to Sheridan, Warren and Morrilton. QB Wyatt Golden threw a 34-yard TD pass to Aiden Bitely in the first quarter of the 56-6 loss to Morrilton 2 weeks ago, but the Bulldogs couldn’t score again. Searcy has beaten Batesville, Valley View and Harrison by a combined 101-41. Sophomore QB Jacob Miles has passed for 758 yards and 9 TDs, and averages almost 4 yards per carry. Junior LB Kayden Hickman leads the Lions with 47 tackles.
No. 2 JOE T. ROBINSON (3-0) at NR Watson Chapel (0-3): Joe T. Robinson has taken down Class 7A Pulaski Academy, Class 6A Jonesboro and Class 5A No. 3 HS Lakeside this fall. Junior QB Reece Simpson has thrown 7 TD passes; Kevin “Deuce” Williams has rushed for 290 yards and 3 TDs. Senior MLB Isaiah Reece (42 tackles) and LB Jackson Redman (36 tackles) lead the defense. Winless Watson Chapel averages 12 points per game.
5A EAST
NR Greene County Tech (0-3) at No. 15 HARDING ACADEMY (1-2): Winless Greene County Tech has shown improvement, losing 2 games by 2 TDs each and almost upending Beebe 2 weeks ago before losing 21-20. Harding Academy rotated Krews Wray and Christian Bubbas at QB in the first half of last week’s 44-14 loss at Class 4A Elkins. The Wildcats didn’t pick up a first down in the first quarter and only crossed midfield once in the first half. Cacher Smith caught a 2-yard TD pass from Wren in the third quarter.
NR Batesville (0-3) at No. 20 NETTLETON (1-2): Batesville has won 18 of the past 24 over Nettleton, but Nettleton has won 5 of the past 7, including the past 2 by a combined 29 points. Nettleton enters off losses to Beebe (32-14) and Blytheville (22-20). Nettleton RB Xavier Harrell has rushed for 261 yards and 4 TDs this year; Damin Coleman leads on defense with 34 tackles, including 10 TFL and 1 sack. Batesville has lost its 3 games by a combined 118-37. The Pioneers trailed Southside 34-3 in the second quarter 2 weeks ago before losing 34-10. Senior QB Cole Bentz passed for 155 yards and ran for Batesville’s TD.
No. 8 VALLEY VIEW (2-1) at NR Paragould (3-0): Valley View has never lost to Paragould (won the previous 15 matchups, including last year 49-0). Paragould is 3-0 for the second consecutive season and only the third time since 1981. Valley View has sandwiched a 35-18 win over Poplar Bluff, Mo. and 35-6 over West Memphis around a 10-point loss at Searcy. Paragould has won all 3 of its nonconference games by at least 2 TDs, including a 34-21 win at Hoxie 2 weeks ago. Spinner back (hybrid QB) Reid Phillips ran for 75 yards, 2 TDs and passed for 93 yards and 1 TD at Hoxie; Avery Dearing passed for 141 yards and ran for 2 TDs.
NR Brookland (0-3) at NR WYNNE (1-2): Wynne has won all 5 meetings over Brookland, including 21-17 in 2023 and 38-6 a year ago. Brookland opened the season with close losses to Highland (26-20) and Pocahontas (26-21) before losing last week to unbeaten Gosnell 47-13. Wynne trailed at Class 4A Lonoke 14-0 in the third quarter 2 weeks ago before losing 34-7. The Yellowjackets defense gave up more than 200 yards rushing.
5A SOUTH
No. 13 MAGNOLIA (2-1) at No. 14 Arkansas High, Texarkana (0-3): These teams have split the previous 6 meetings, with Magnolia winning last fall by 7 points. Magnolia beat Hamburg 62-54 in a shootout last week. The Panthers, operating from the Wing T, didn’t attempt a pass, but ran 60 times for 369 yards, led by junior Jamaijha Marshall (18-153-1 TD) and sophomore John Curry (8-83-2 TDs). Arkansas High (Texarkana) has lost to Class 6A LR Catholic, Morrilton and Class 6A El Dorado by a combined 117-66.
NR De Queen (2-1) at NR HOPE (1-2): Improved Hope beat Ashdown 25-19 in overtime 2 weeks ago, and last week was tied with Prescott 14-14 in the third quarter before losing 28-20. Hope QB Trey Hoglund passed for 89 yards and 1 TD, and Trey Gomer ran for 98 yards and 1 TD. Joel Bello led Hope’s defense with 12 tackles, and 1 fumble recovery for a TD. De Queen has beaten Horatio and Lafayette County in its past 2 games by a combined 91-26.
No. 9 Camden Fairview (1-2) at No. 3 HS LAKESIDE (2-1): Camden Fairview has won 13 of the past 19 over the Rams, but HS Lakeside has won the past 2 seasons (by 14 points in 2023 and 7 points last year). A total of 9 points decided the games in 2021 and 2022. Camden Fairview junior RB/WR Dayton Browning has played well. “We have to find a way to put it in his hands more,” Coach Nick Vaughn says. DE Zech Duhart leads Camden Fairview’s defense, which should improve more over the next few weeks as injured players begin returning. HS Lakeside 2 weeks ago lost to Joe T. Robinson 35-16. Senior QB Wally Wolcott passed for 152 yards and averaged 3.5 yards per carry vs. Robinson; Peter Ohman ran 26 times for 109 yards and 1 TD. “Our Achilles heel in our 2 losses have been turnovers and special teams,” Vaughn says.
No. 11 Hot Springs (2-1) at No. 1 LR PARKVIEW (1-2): Little Rock Parkview has lost consecutive games to Class 7A Bryant and Class 6A Benton by a combined 80-20. The Patriots gained 190 yards vs. Benton while playing senior Emmanuel Bunting and Montrell Thompson at QB. Hot Springs hammered Alma 49-7 2 weeks ago. Senior QB Sedrick Allen 148 yards passing, 3 TDs; 4-54 rushing) sparked the Trojans. Senior Ja’Marcis Morning (6-64 receiving) and Luey Jaime (3-58) were the top receivers. Jveon Johnson led the defense with eight tackles.
5A WEST
No. 5 GREENBRIER (3-0) at No. 7 Morrilton (3-0): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.
No. 12 HARRISON (1-2) at Alma (1-2): Alma has won 16 of the past 25 over Harrison, since the Golden Goblins beat Alma by 2 in Week 8, 1999, and by 3 points 6 weeks later in the state title game. Harrison hung with unbeaten Searcy 2 weeks ago before losing 19-7. QB Gavin Jones passed for 134 yards and ran for a TD against Searcy. Alma lost to Hot Springs by 42 points 2 weeks ago. Sophomore RB Dallas Perkins ran for 100 yards vs. Hot Springs. Senior Samuel Schlegel leads the Airedales with 21 carries, 113 yards and 3 TDs; 11 catches, 174 yards and 2 TDs.
NR Pea Ridge (0-3) at No. 4 FARMINGTON (2-1): Winless Pea Ridge has been outscored 82-23 this fall. Farmington beat rival Prairie Grove 28-27 2 weeks ago. Backup QB Slade Norwood, filling in for injured starter Ayden Lester, engineered a late TD march to lift the Cardinals past Prairie Grove. Senior Dawson Keaton caught a TD pass and ran for a TD against the Tigers. Farmington Coach Tommy Tice says Lester’s status for the remainder of the year will be determined late in the week.
NR Clarksville (1-2) at No. 17 VILONIA (1-2): Clarksville beat Dover 36-6 last week to snap a 10-game losing streak (hadn’t won since beating Dover last year to snap a 22-game losing skid). James Cook and Denver Pickartz combined for 249 yards and 4 TDs vs. Dover, while Kale Porter posted 15 tackles and 4 sacks. Vilonia has lost consecutive games since beating Beebe 6-3 in the opener. LB Ryan Fronabarger leads the Eagles defense with 27 stops; OLB Ryan Deal has 19 tackles, including 3 sacks
