LITTLE ROCK — Baptist Prep broke open a rivalry game with a 35-point second quarter and kept the Cantrell Cup in West Little Rock, rolling past Episcopal 55-14 Friday at Eagle Creek Field.

Junior quarterback Aaron Fielder accounted for four touchdowns—two passing, one rushing and one receiving—for the Eagles. Senior WR/OLB Austin Herring scored three times (two rushes, one reception), and junior RB/OLB Shep Garrison added a 35-yard screen score. Senior WR/CB Ben Brown delivered a 71-yard end-around after halftime. Sophomore RB/CB Levi Sanders churned out chain-moving runs behind a line anchored by senior T/G Nathan Self and 6-8, 300-pound DL/OL Ben Bunch, who also recorded a sack. Senior OLB/DE Levi Yager and the front repeatedly compressed the edge, setting short fields the offense cashed in.

Episcopal struck on a 75-yard bomb from senior QB/RB Turner Harbour to junior WR/CB Jake Martin and later added Harbour’s 6-yard keeper plus a two-point jet touch pass to sophomore RB/FS Towns Jenkins. Senior TE/OLB Ford Gill was active on both sides, while junior CB/WR Thomas Hester and junior Blake Cooper made plays in space.

Specialists were busy: senior K Dyson Stewart and sophomore K Luke Bell combined to hit seven PATs.

Both teams entered seeking their first win; Baptist Prep’s tempo and balance finally broke the stalemate after a defense-heavy first quarter. The victory gives the Eagles a third straight rivalry win and the first presentation of the new Cantrell Cup trophy.
