No. 3 4-4A Ozark (7-3) at NO. 3 7-4A BAUXITE (7-3):

Ozark’s 3 losses this fall came against teams with a combined record of 28-2; Bauxite’s 3 losses came against teams with a record of 26-4.

Ozark fell to the No. 3 seed after last week’s 52-30 loss to Clinton. Junior QB Cade Capp passed for 140 yards and 1 TD. Junior Easton Fox (17-109 rushing, TD) and sophomore John Skolarski (18-94, TD) ran into the teeth of a Clinton defense geared to stop the run. Senior Colton Rosson benefited from the defense’s alignment and caught 4 passes for 94 yards and 1 TD. Senior LB Caeden Rosson led the Hillbillies with 7 tackles, and Capp made 6 stops at safety.

Bauxite secured the No. 3 seed by winning its final 4 games by an average of 49-17, including last week’s 33-7 victory over Saline County rival Harmony Grove-Haskell. The Miners gained 411 yards on 50 plays. Freshman QB Owen Foreman passed for 260 yards and 2 TDs and ran for 89 yards and 1 TD. Senior Bryce Bearden and sophomore Gunnar Morris each caught TD passes. Bauxite’s defense held the Cardinals scoreless until reserves played in the fourth quarter. “Both of our lines played well,” Coach Caleb Perry says. Austin Hastings led the Miners with 2 interceptions, and Keegan Roberts recovered a fumble.

No. 4 4-4A Pottsville (6-4) at NO. 3 3-4A BLYTHEVILLE (6-3): Blytheville’s 3 losses came against teams with a combined record of 28-2. The Chickasaws lost at Southside last week 47-14. Senior RB Courtney Rogers ran 21 times for 254 yards and 2 TDs, and junior DB Joshua Holton made 9 tackles. Pottsville beat Dover 42-13 a week ago. The Apaches’ 4 losses came against teams with a combined record of 35-5.

No. 5 8-4A Helena (4-6) at NO. 1 2-4A MILLS (9-1): Mills captured its second consecutive conference title by rallying for a 21-14 win at Lonoke. QB Elijah Moody, who missed most of the season with an injury, sparked the Comets with 2 third-quarter TD runs. T.J. Talbot caught the clinching 21-yard TD pass. Helena finishes as the No. 5 seed after beating Star City last week 50-7. QB Kenneth Gilcreast passed for 289 yards and 4 TDs.

No. 5 2-4A Forrest City (5-5) at NO. 1 1-4A ELKINS (9-1): Elkins wrapped up its fourth consecutive conference championship with last week’s 47-0 victory over Huntsville. Senior QB Ben Napier passed for 210 yards and 2 TDs; Connor Hamm ran for 135 yards and caught 3 passes for 20 yards. Senior LB Brooks Williams (8 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) led the defense. Forrest City fell from the No. 3 seed to the No. 5 seed with last week’s 28-26 loss at Central Arkansas Christian. Senior RB Kevin Young ran 24 times for 248 yards and 1 TD and completed 4 of 6 passes when he lined up at QB.

 No. 5 1-4A Huntsville (4-6) at NO. 2 3-4A SOUTHSIDE (9-1): Huntsville returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2021 after beating Lincoln by 35 points in Week 8 and Green Forest by 3 points in overtime in Week 9. Southside finishes as the No. 2 seed after beating Blytheville last week 47-14. The Southerners forced 7 turnovers and are plus-29 in turnover margin this season. Senior Owen McLaughlin ran for more than 200 yards and 2 TDs; Braden Simpson scored 3 TDs and made 14 tackles and forced a fumble when on defense. QB Trey Allen threw a TD pass and intercepted 2 passes when playing in the secondary.

No. 4 3-4A Highland (5-5) at NO. 2 7-4A ARKADELPHIA (9-1): Highland gets the No. 4 seed after last week’s 6-point win over Pocahontas. QB Isaac Hilton passed for 244 yards and 2 TDs. Carson Standford caught 3 passes for 118 yards and a TD, and made 12 tackles when playing on defense. Brogan Pospisil intercepted 3 passes. Arkadelphia finished second in the 7-4A with last week’s 53-21 win over Malvern. Bryce Meakin threw 3 TD passes, and Caden Whitaker ran for 71 yards and 1 TD. Xzavion Williams, Skyler McClure and Lance Gulley all finished with 6 tackles, and Amari Ford recovered 2 fumbles.

No. 4 7-4A Fountain Lake (6-4) at NO. 2 4-4A CLINTON (9-1): Fountain Lake claimed the No. 4 seed with last week’s 49-32 victory over Ashdown. The Cobras put up 501 total yards, led by QB Cooper Buss (300 passing yards, 4 TDs). Peyton Harwood (12-169, TD) and Jordan Haire (9-116-3) were the top receivers; senior Devin Williams ran for 117 yards and 3 TDs. Clinton earned the No. 2 seed with a 52-30 victory over Ozark. LB Briar Gadberry (19.5 tackles, 7 TFL) and Zach Hunt-Gonzalez (14 tackles) spearheaded the defense. Hunt-Gonzalez ran for 111 yards and 3 TDs; QB Brodie Dufrene completed 9 of 11 passes for 182 yards and 1 TD.

No. 1 3-4A Gosnell (10-0) has a first-round bye

No. 4 1-4A Gentry (7-3) at NO. 3 8-4A WARREN (7-3): Gentry travels more than 300 miles and 5 hours for this game, but the Pioneers endured a similar trek last fall and knocked off favored DeWitt in the first round. Gentry finished as the No. 4 seed after losing to Gravette 35-21 last week. Senior QB Talan Williams passed for 451 yards and 3 TDs, with Jaxson Holt catching 14 passes for 204 yards and 1 TD. Ethan Meyers led the defense with 22 tackles. Warren clinched the No. 3 seed with last week’s 66-34 victory over Crossett. Senior Aaron Davis ran for more than 200 yards and 5 TDs.

No. 5 3-4A Pocahontas (4-5) at NO. 1 7-4A NASHVILLE (8-2): Pocahontas makes the 5-hour, 1-way drive to Howard County for a second consecutive season. It upset Nashville 28-13 last season. Nashville beat Pocahontas 37-7 in the second round in 2022. Pocahontas finished as the No. 5 seed after losing to Highland 27-21 last week. Brendyn Arnold caught 10 passes for 123 yards and 1 TD, and Mason Priest caught 9 passes for 101 yards. Priest led the Redskins with 12 tackles. Nashville claimed its first conference title since 2020 with last week’s 56-0 win over Genoa Central. Junior RB Bryce Perrin (15-119-3 TDs) and junior QB D.J. Jefferson (8-9-109-1 TD) sparked the Scrappers.

NO. 3 1-4A PRAIRIE GROVE (5-5) at No. 3 2-4A Heber Springs (5-5): Heber Springs beat Prairie Grove 33-30 in the first round of the 2008 playoffs. Prairie Grove has scored 134 in the past 2 weeks. The Tigers thumped Lincoln 82-34 a week ago behind senior RBs Blake Coughran (13-183 rushing, TD) and Elijah Sugg (10-147-3 TDs). Senior Jackson Pierce rushed 3 times for 67 yards and 2 TDs; Corbin Stearman was a defensive leader. Heber Springs wrapped up the No. 3 seed with a 54-6 win over Riverview. Senior DE Dyce Young finished with 9 tackles, including 6 TFL and 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. He set a school single-season record this fall with 11 sacks and 26 TFL. QB Lachlan Tubbs passed for 105 yards and 2 TDs, and freshman Spencer Sugg completed 4 passes, 2 of them for TDs, both to freshman Eli Long. Freshman Lane Bradley returned a punt 60 yards for a TD.

No. 5 7-4A Malvern (4-6) at NO. 1 4-4A DARDANELLE (10-0): Dardanelle capped a 10-0 conference championship regular-season with last week’s 28-13 win over Mena. Senior QB Creed Vega ran for 169 yards and 2 TDs, passed for 134 yards, and on defense registered 7 tackles and recovered 1 fumble. Rod Chaten caught 5 passes for 69 yards and made 4 tackles and 1 interception on defense, while his brother, sophomore Jayvon Chaten, ran 12 times for 87 yards. Malvern has lost its past 4 games by an average of 41-19, including last week’s 53-21 setback to Arkadelphia.

 No. 5 4-4A Mena (6-4) at NO. 2 8-4A HAMBURG (8-2): These teams haven’t played since Hamburg beat Mena 48-12 in the first round in 2013. Mena hung with No. 1 Dardanelle last week before losing 28-13. Beck Vacca led the Bearcats offense with 4 catches, 124 yards and 2 TDs and made 6 tackles on defense. Chance Hughes led Mena with 8 stops. Hamburg must regroup after last week’s 11-point loss to Stuttgart, which cost the Lions a conference title. QB Kaeden Thomas led the offense, and Aiden Robinson led Hamburg’s defense.

 NO. 4 8-4A MONTICELLO (5-5) at No. 2 2-4A Lonoke (7-3): Monticello earned the No. 4 seed with last week’s 58-32 win at DeWitt. Senior Joseph Accelus ran for 239 yards and 4 TDs; QB Hudson Harvey passed for 179 yards and 3 TDs. Jackson Hines ran for 1 TD and caught 5 passes for 117 yards and 3 TDs. Aaden Franklin and Charles Franklin each racked up 8 tackles. Lonoke must recover after last week’s heartbreaking 21-14 loss to Mills in the 2-4A title game. The Jackrabbits led 6-0 at halftime, but gave up 21 points in the third quarter.

No. 4 2-4A Central Arkansas Christian (4-6) at NO. 2 1-4A GRAVETTE (8-2): CAC beat Gravette 31-8 in the 2005 quarterfinals. The Mustangs earned the No. 4 seed with last week’s 2-point win over Forrest City. Sophomores Eli Cash (22-193 rushing) and Jackson Plumlee (79 rushing, TD; 3-30 receiving; 7 tackles) led the Mustangs. Damian Wicker (8 tackles, 1 INT.) stood out on defense. Gravette overcame a second-quarter deficit last week to beat Gentry by 14 points and claim the No. 2 seed. Junior Joseph Beem (134 rushing, 2 TDs) and senior QB Cameron Bedwell (3-4 passing, 29 yards; 6-39 rushing, TD) led the offense, along with junior Gage Bottorff (4-180 receiving, 2 TDs) and Cade Phillips, who contributed a 96-yard trick play.
