Bryant Rallies Past Rogers In Double-Overtime Classic

Bryant 50, Rogers 43
BRYANT – Senior running backs Collin Robinson and Zekariah Curtis‑Jones powered Bryant to a 50–43 double‑overtime win over Rogers in a wild Class 7A semifinal Friday night at Hornet Stadium.
Rogers controlled the first half behind senior quarterback Jeff Regan, whose keeper-heavy attack and a short scoring pass to running back Titus Cramer built leads of 14–0 and 21–14. Cramer also opened the scoring with a 2‑yard plunge to cap a 16‑play, clock‑draining drive.
Bryant answered in the second quarter when Collin Robinson scored on runs of 8 and 20 yards to briefly erase the deficit before Cramer’s goal‑line reception sent Rogers to halftime up 21–14.
The Hornets finally found explosive rhythm after the break. Senior quarterback Jeremiah Motes hit receiver Kamauri Austin on a 48‑yard strike to tie it at 21. Regan responded with two more rushing scores as Rogers surged ahead 35–21 midway through the fourth.
Bryant refused to fade. Curtis‑Jones barreled in late in the quarter, then, after a defensive stand and turnover on downs, Motes drove the Hornets 50 yards in the final minute, rolling right to find tight end Cooper Billingsley for the tying 7‑yard touchdown with 17 seconds remaining.
In the first overtime, Regan’s 7‑yard touchdown and his own two‑point run put Rogers up 43–35, but Curtis‑Jones answered immediately with a 10‑yard score and the game‑saving conversion. Robinson’s third touchdown, a 4‑yard burst in the second overtime, gave Bryant its first lead. Defensive linemen Malachi McDonald and Matthew Nelson, along with linebacker Jakore Smith and defensive back Kavon Smith, then stuffed a reverse pass and forced a fumble at the 6‑yard line to end it.
