Adams scores three times in varsity debut as Greenbrier beats Beebe

Greenbrier 41, Beebe 7
BEEBE — Freshman Kaden Adams rushed for three touchdowns in his varsity debut, and Greenbrier scored on its first two possessions while building a 41-point lead in a 41-7 victory over Beebe Friday night at Wooten Field.
Greyson Linville added two rushing touchdowns, Easton Jutze threw a touchdown pass to Trendon Moseley, and Ethan Rhodes made five extra points. Greenbrier improved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in 5A-Central play. Beebe fell to 1-4 and 1-1.
Linville opened the game with a run to Beebe’s 36, and Moseley’s screen reception moved the Panthers inside the 20. Linville finished the four-play possession with a 12-yard touchdown run, cutting inside on an outside-zone play with 10:45 remaining in the first quarter.
Beebe answered with a possession that consumed most of the remaining quarter. Quarterback Hayden Bates converted fourth-and-short, and Donald Willett supplied inside gains, but Greenbrier forced consecutive incompletions and took over at its own 31.
Adams immediately broke free on his first varsity carry, reaching Beebe’s 20 before a penalty moved the ball farther. A holding call erased his initial touchdown, but he scored from 12 yards two plays later. Rhodes’ kick made it 14-0 with 2:29 left.
Greenbrier stopped another Beebe possession on fourth down early in the second quarter. Tyler Hart’s tackle on a third-down pitch helped force that opportunity. Linville then lost a fumble, giving Beebe the ball at the Panthers’ 29, but Greenbrier recovered a fumble three plays later.
Adams’ second 12-yard touchdown run capped the ensuing possession with 3:55 remaining. Another recovered fumble set up Greenbrier’s fourth touchdown. Kaeden Cummings caught a pass thrown behind him for a first down, Linville gained nine yards, and Jutze found Moseley on a slant for a 28-0 lead with 55 seconds left in the half.
Ace Newland stopped Willett for no gain during Beebe’s first third-quarter possession, which ended in a punt. Adams then went 53 yards on Greenbrier’s first offensive play of the half. He stepped through an attempted tackle, used a stiff-arm and followed Moseley’s downfield block into the end zone. The extra point struck the right upright, leaving the score 34-0.
Cummings added another first-down reception on Greenbrier’s next scoring drive. Linville finished it with his second touchdown run, and Rhodes’ kick extended the margin to 41-0 before the third quarter ended.
Beebe avoided the shutout with a late touchdown on an option pitch. The extra point was the game’s final play.
