SILOAM SPRINGS — Jace Bohannan ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as Lake Hamilton (6-3, 5-1) defeated Siloam Springs (1-8, 1-5) 35-0 Friday night.
The Wolves scored touchdowns on all three of their first-half possessions and turned away several Siloam Springs threats. Lake Hamilton led 21-0 at halftime, then added a touchdown in each of the final two quarters.
Siloam Springs moved deep into Lake Hamilton territory on its opening possession but could not convert on fourth down. The Wolves responded with a sustained drive, using catches by JJ Johnson and a first-down scramble by Bohannan before Braxden Schmidt bounced outside for a 13-yard touchdown run. The extra point made it 7-0.
Lake Hamilton overcame a holding penalty that wiped out another Schmidt touchdown in the second quarter. Schmidt caught a screen pass and reached the Siloam Springs 3, setting up a goal-line sequence that included an Isaiah Carr stop and a Caleb Braschler pass breakup. On third down, Bohannan rolled right and found Johnson in the corner of the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown with 5:37 left in the half.
Johnson later converted a third down with a 10-yard run, and Schmidt added another strong carry to help Lake Hamilton advance. Bohannan reached the 4 on a 15-yard run, then scored from there with 40 seconds remaining. The successful kick gave the Wolves their 21-point halftime cushion.
Siloam Springs forced a punt to begin the third quarter and mounted another threat. Cooper Hahn found Emerett Patterson for a completion to the Lake Hamilton 15, and Izael Beleche carried inside the 5. The Wolves held, however, and an incomplete fourth-down pass ended the possession with 6:15 left in the quarter.
Lake Hamilton drove out from its own 5 and eventually scored on Bohannan’s 20-yard run, overcoming another holding penalty that erased a Tyree Scott touchdown along the way. Bohannan added an 8-yard touchdown run with 9:49 left in the fourth quarter. The fifth successful extra point made it 35-0 and started the running clock.
Siloam Springs reached the Lake Hamilton 3 late in the game, but another unsuccessful fourth-down attempt preserved the shutout. The Wolves host Van Buren in the regular-season finale, while Siloam Springs visits Russellville.
