Bombers blast past Wolves with fast start, thumping defense

Mountain Home 42, Lake Hamilton 7

Mountain Home turned a storm-threatened Thursday into a statement win, racing to a 28–0 halftime lead and never looking back in a 42–7 victory over Lake Hamilton at Bomber Stadium. Senior RB/FS Barrett Miller powered the surge with three first-half rushing touchdowns, including a 44-yard burst late in the second quarter, while QB Brantlee Phillipsadded two scoring runs as the Bombers controlled the line of scrimmage. Lake Hamilton’s lone score came on a fourth-quarter pass from Jace Bohannan to sophomore Tyree Scott, but Connor Schulz answered immediately with an 88-yard kickoff return to seal it.

Mountain Home’s defense set the tone early and closed the half with a goal-line stand. OLB Jacob Bellomy forced a fumble that Hunter Estes recovered, and DB Gus Wilber and CB Carter Adkins broke up multiple throws as the Bombers strung out perimeter plays and squeezed the Wolves’ ground game. Unofficially, Miller approached 200 rushing yards with three TDs, and Phillips topped 100 rushing yards with two TDs.

Lake Hamilton (Pearcy) moved the ball through the air at times—WRs JJ Johnson, Brayden Goodale, and Scott had chain-moving grabs—and Bohannan showed poise under pressure, but the Wolves were repeatedly turned back in short yardage.
