Bryant 49, Parkview 6

BRYANT — Bryant stormed past Parkview 49-6 on Friday night at Hornet Stadium, using explosive plays and a swarming defense to stay unbeaten.

The Hornets (3-0) struck early and often. Running back Kollin Robinson powered in two first-quarter touchdowns, while quarterback Kyler Shelby connected with wideout Caleb Tucker for a 72-yard strike. Fellow quarterback Jeremiah Motes added balance, tossing scoring passes to TJ Hodges (51 yards) and tight end Cooper Billingsley. Sophomore back Kaleb Leak broke free for a 21-yard score, and Hodges also punched in a 9-yard touchdown run. Kicker Grayson King went a perfect 7-for-7 on extra points.

Bryant’s defense made life miserable for Parkview’s quarterbacks. Defensive end Matthew Nelson anchored a relentless pass rush, while cornerback Matthew Ferguson snagged a late interception and recovered a fumble. Linebacker Jakory Smith added double-digit tackles, helping hold the Patriots scoreless until the fourth quarter.

Parkview (1-1) showed grit despite the deficit. Quarterback Emanuel Bunting found Kyrick Fulks for multiple chain-moving receptions, and running back Dallas Bledsoe battled for tough yards. The Patriots avoided the shutout when versatile athlete Montrell Thompson capped a late drive with a 1-yard touchdown run. Safety Landan Adams and lineman Billy Moore stood out defensively with several key stops.

The Hornets rolled up points with their trademark mix of speed and depth, while Parkview showed flashes that should pay off in 5A competition.
