Bryant dominates Central conference opener
Bryant 64, Little Rock Central 0
LITTLE ROCK — Bryant overwhelmed Little Rock Central from the opening series and never let up, piling up explosive plays on offense and a defensive score to secure a 64–0 conference win Friday at historic Quigley Stadium. Junior quarterback Kyler Shelby authored three touchdown passes, while senior quarterback Jeremiah Motes added a 44-yard strike as the Hornets (4-0) built a 50–0 halftime cushion and cruised from there.
Shelby’s first-quarter touchdown toss to T.J. Hodges set the tone before Hodges, a versatile RB/WR, punched in another score on the ground. Senior running back Kollin Robinson ripped off touchdown runs of 35 and 3 yards, and junior tight end Hayden Sublette hauled in a fourth-quarter TD to cap the rout. Kicker Grayson King was steady with a 32-yard field goal and six PATs before J.D. Olson added the final point after.
Bryant’s defense swarmed. Defensive back Ryan Young snared an interception near the goal line; when the ball squirted loose, safety TaDaVuan “Day” Wilson pounced in the end zone for six. Wilson was a tone-setter all night for a unit that never allowed Central’s offense to find a rhythm.
Central (2-2) showed flashes. Freshman quarterback Bryson Kennedy — already a touted prospect — took snaps against relentless pressure, while running backs Ray Stewart and Jacob Marshall found occasional creases. Defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy, a Miami commit, tipped a pass and drew extra attention on the edge. Cornerback Jaylon Robinsonand wide receiver Micah Frazier also made chain-moving plays for the Tigers.
