Bryant 42, Little Rock Southwest 6

BRYANT — Mixing power and precision, Bryant rolled past Little Rock Southwest 42–6 on Friday night at Hornet Stadium. QB Kyler Shelby spread the field with three touchdown passes—two to WR Caleb Tucker (24 and 35 yards) and another to WR Kamauri Austin (16)—while the ground game set the tone early. RB Kollin Robinson opened the scoring by cashing a four‑carry drive with a 1‑yard plunge, and RB Jakobe Boone added a bruising 3‑yard keeper. Late, sophomore QB Kace King lofted a 27‑yard strike to WR Evan Hicks. Kicker J.D. Olson hit every point‑after.

Bryant’s defense framed the rout. DB Terriun Jones and DB Anthony Ellis snagged interceptions, and a front keyed by DE Sam Nelson stacked sacks and negative plays across four quarters. Discipline showed up in coverage and tackling as the Hornets turned short fields into points.

Southwest flashed resilience after halftime. QB Derrick Vasser extended plays and found WR Mario Maxwell for a 66‑yard touchdown, the Gryphons’ biggest play. RB Tyler Jackson chipped out yards between the tackles, while OLB/SS Charles Oliver IV was active in support and two‑way lineman Aaron Clay steadied the interior and handled punts.

The result reflected the identity of coach Quad Sanders’s deep, disciplined Hornets against coach Chadwick Lewis’s rebuilding Gryphons, who continued to compete. Bryant controlled tempo as well, using play‑action and perimeter screens to keep the chains moving. The victory underscored the Hornets’ balance heading into the back half of 7A Central play.
