DOVER — Kendrick Carr scored twice from Lamar’s heavy formation, and the Warriors added three third-quarter touchdowns to defeat Dover 44-0 Friday night.

Lamar improved to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in 4A-4 play with its third shutout of the season. The Warriors led 22-0 at halftime, then recovered an onside kick during a 22-point third quarter. Dover fell to 2-3 and 0-2.

The Pirates made Lamar work for its first score. With the Warriors starting a possession at Dover’s 25, Whitman Storment carried the ball to the 3, but Dover stopped him on fourth down and took over near its goal line with 4:26 remaining in the first quarter.

Lamar’s defense promptly restored the field-position advantage. Kasen Humphrey stopped a reverse on third down, forcing Dover to punt from its end zone. The Warriors started again at the Pirates’ 40.

Carr took a direct snap and ran around the left side to the 14. Corbin Cowell then helped move Lamar close to the goal line before Carr followed the heavy formation’s blocking for a two-yard touchdown with 2:04 left. The conversion failed.

Lamar overcame a holding penalty that erased a Storment touchdown on its next possession. Early in the second quarter, Karsten Schluterman found Humphrey downfield to move the ball to the 7. Kaden Parmenter’s reception took the Warriors to the 2, and Carr scored again. Carr also ran in the conversion for a 14-0 advantage.

Dover reached Lamar territory on its next drive, but the Warriors continued to get stops from Jake Wyles and the defensive front. Late in the half, Brailon Carr stripped the ball from Jacob Roberson after a reception, giving Lamar possession with 1:47 remaining.

Schluterman opened the ensuing drive with a run to the 37, connected with Humphrey on a 30-yard gain and later found Parmenter for a touchdown. Carr’s conversion run extended the lead to 22-0 before halftime.

Brailon Carr’s running helped Lamar advance on the opening possession of the third quarter. A holding penalty took away a potential touchdown, but Storment answered immediately with an 18-yard scoring run around the left side with 8:09 left. Dover stopped the conversion.

Kendrick Carr then recovered his own onside kick. After another penalty against Dover, Brailon Carr turned a short play into a long touchdown, staying on his feet and cutting back across the field. The conversion pushed the margin to 36-0.

Schluterman added a three-yard keeper later in the quarter, selling a fake to Cowell before reaching the end zone. Storment caught the two-point pass to complete the scoring.

Wyles, Cowell and Tucker Williams continued to limit Dover’s ground game. Williams made a third-down stop behind the line in the third quarter, while Darren Grace helped stop a fourth-quarter possession. Lamar’s broadcast selected Wyles as its player of the game.
