South (3) No. 6 HS Lakeside (8-3) at WEST (1) NO. 2 GREENBRIER (11-0)

Hot Springs Lakeside snapped a 2-game losing skid last week by throttling Searcy 56-34. Senior QB Wally Wolcott (323 passing, 3 TDs) and the Rams’ speedy receivers gave Searcy’s secondary fits. Senior Drew Morgan (7-163 receiving, 2 TDs) and senior Jonathan Prather (5-138 receiving, TD) were Wolcott’s top targets. Junior workhorse Peter Ohman (15-70 rushing; 4-77 receiving, 1 TD) contributed. Lakeside’s defense didn’t allow a point in the second half. Undersized senior nose guard Jashaun Graves (5-6, 160) harassed Searcy all night, making 4 tackles. Senior LB Cannon Martin (9 tackles, including 1 sack) and senior safeties Chris Ford (8 stops, 1 INT.) and senior Luke Wrublesky (8 tackles, 2 INTs. and 1 fumble recovery) were playmakers on defense.

Undefeated Greenbrier jumped on outmanned Batesville 42-0 in the first quarter last week before winning 49-21. Senior QB Jack Palmer hit 13 of 16 passes for 259 yards and 3 TDs in the opening half. Trenden Moseley (7-140 receiving, 3 TDs; 65-yard TD run on a reverse). Senior RB Enoch Assan (16-155 rushing, TD) contributed. Senior safety Ethan Smith recorded 6 tackles, returned 2 punts for 33 yards to set up TD drives and made an interception that set up another TD.

West No. 2 Farmington (9-2) at CENTRAL NO. 1 JOE T. ROBINSON (11-0): These teams have never played. Farmington’s only losses this fall were to Class 7A Har-Ber by 14 points in Week 1 and at eventual Class 5A West champion Greenbrier by 10 points in midseason. The Cardinals’ defense held Harding Academy to 152 yards, including 11 rushing, in last week’s 44-0 win. Brenner Watkins led the Cardinals’ ground attack with 16 carries, 81 yards, and 2 TDs, and senior QB Ayden Lester passed for 129 yards and 1 TD, and he ran for another TD. Joe T. Robinson rallied from a second-half deficit to squeeze past Camden Fairview 38-27. Senior Kevin “Deuce” Williams ran for 3 TDs after halftime, and junior Hakim Frampton returned an interception 80 yards for a TD (had a 100-yard interception return in Week 10 vs. Maumelle).

WEST NO. 2 MORRILTON (9-3) at South No. 1 Hot Springs (10-1): Morrilton racked up almost 600 yards in last week’s 55-26 win at Nettleton. Senior QB Maddox Berry (24-30 passing, 381 yards, 6 TDs) torched the Raiders’ secondary. Senior Jamarcus Sandidge was the top receiver (8-206, 5 TDs) along with Dante Cox (8-102, 1) and junior Champ McNabb (8-73). Hot Springs survived No. 4 seed Beebe 28-22 in overtime last week. Senior QB Sedrick Bishop Allen passed for 210 yards and 2 TDs. Senior Ja’Marcis Morning (4-107) and sophomore Gabe Jaime (2-47) were the top receivers; Jayden Meadows (17 tackles) led the defense.

BOTTOM OF THE BRACKET

West No. 4 Harrison (6-5) at SOUTH NO. 2 LR PARKVIEW (8-3): Harrison was the only No. 4 seed in Class 5A to advance last week, knocking off East champ Valley View 27-13. Senior QB Gavin Jones passed for 193 yards and ran for 1 TD, and Eli McNutt ran for 2 TDs. Inside linebackers Sky Lee (12 tackles) and Ty Bundy (10 tackles) dominated the middle, and outside LB Bryce Jones had 11 stops and 1 INT. LR Parkview advanced to the Class 5A quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive season. The Patriots had 2 TDs called back by penalties, but the defense made up for it with 4 interceptions. QB Montrell Thompson threw 2 second-half TD passes. Carmello Johnson ran 11 yards for a TD on an option play, then caught a 33-yard TD pass.
