No. 4 Farmington (4-1, 2-0) at No. 2 GREENBRIER (5-0, 2-0)
This game helps decide the 5A West championship. Defending league champion Farmington’s only loss this season was by 14 points to Class 7A Har-Ber. The Cardinals have won 3 in a row since that loss, and their 2 conference games were won by a combined 77-14. Senior quarterback Ayden Lester returned from a knee injury 2 weeks ago, completing 20 of 25 passes for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns to spark the Cardinals in last week’s 37-14 win at Harrison. Lester also ran for a TD. “We have to tackle well and contain Lester,” Greenbrier Coach Randy Tribble says.
Undefeated Greenbrier’s closest game this season was a 14-point victory over Class 6A Van Buren. The Panthers have beaten Morrilton and Clarksville by a combined score of 101-28 over the past 2 weeks. Senior Enoch Assan, the team’s leading rusher, returns this week after missing last week’s 49-7 victory over Clarksville. Senior QB Jack Palmer passed for 178 yards and 5 TDs at Clarksville. Trenden Moseley (5-74 receiving, 2 TDs) and Salter Mahan (3-78, 2 TDs) were Greenbrier’s top receivers, while linebacker Brady Wilbanks registered 5 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss.

No. 1 JOE T. ROBINSON (5-0, 2-0) at White Hall (0-5, 0-2): Top-ranked Joe T. Robinson scored on its first play and built a 14-0 advantage in less than 2 minutes on its way to a 35-point win over Jacksonville. Senior RB Kevin “Deuce” Williams ran 192 yards and 4 TDs (including a 54-yard up the middle on the first play). Winless White Hall hung with Beebe last week before losing 32-14. The Bulldogs allowed almost 300 yards rushing.
No. 6 SEARCY (5-0, 2-0) at No. 19 Jacksonville (2-3, 0-2): Searcy led Watson Chapel 43-6 in the second quarter last week before easing to a 56-12 decision. Sophomore QB Jacob Miles hit 16 of 18 passes for 222 yards and 3 TDs; the Lions had eight different players run the ball, averaging 6 yards per carry. Junior DeAndre Shockley registered 4 tackles (2 TFL) and 1 interception, while junior Kayden Hickman had 5 stops. Jacksonville’s Mason Ball ran for a TD and intercepted a pass in last week’s 35-point setback at Loe T. Robinson.
No. 10 MAUMELLE (3-2, 2-0) at Watson Chapel (0-5, 0-2): Maumelle’s defense, led by senior DE Jordan Harris (9 tackles, including 8 TFL and 5 sacks in last week’s 21-7 win over Pine Bluff), continues to dominate. The Hornets registered 7 sacks and stopped the Zebras twice on fourth down. Junior QB Levi Warrior passed for 238 yards and a TD and ran for a TD.
No. 18 BEEBE (3-2, 1-1) at No. 15 Pine Bluff (1-4, 1-1): Beebe’s Curtis Goodrich ran for 246 yards and 3 TDs to power the Badgers in last week’s 32-14 win over White Hall. Pine Bluff Coach Michael Williams says the Zebras must eliminate mistakes and penalties after last week’s 14-point loss at Maumelle. The Zebras were sacked 4 times, stopped on fourth down twice, and lost 1 fumble. Senior DT Emmanuel Hudson tallied 5.5 tackles, including 2.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.
5A EAST
No. 8 VALLEY VIEW (4-1, 2-0) at Wynne (2-3, 1-1): Valley View has recorded 3 consecutive shutouts, the latest a 27-0 decision over Harding Academy. Rylan Ramsey intercepted a pass on Harding Academy’s first possession last week to set the tone, and Barrett Mallett ran in a short TD a few plays later. Wynne must find answers after last week’s last-second 17-14 loss at Greene County Tech. RB Christian Wren ran for 99 yards and both of Wynne’s TDs. The Yellowjackets mustered 217 yards of offense.
No. 17 NETTLETON (3-2, 2-0) at Paragould (3-2, 0-2): Nettleton’s Xavier Harrell ran in the TD and winning 2-point conversion in overtime last week to lift the Raiders over Brookland 29-28. Harrell finished with 111 yards and 3 TDs. Damien Coleman paced Nettleton’s defense. Paragould limited Batesville to 89 yards passing last week, but lost 24-16. Austin Burdin had 108 yards receiving and 1 TD, and Avery Dearing passed for 152 yards. Dillon Burgess led the defense with 10 tackles.
Batesville (1-4, 1-1) at No. 14 HARDING ACADEMY (2-3, 1-1): Harding Academy failed to score in last week’s 27-point loss at Valley View, the first time the Wildcats have been shutout since the 1995 semifinals. Batesville QB Cole Bentz passed for 89 yards and 1 TD, and ran for 52 yards and 2 TDs last week as the Pioneers won their first game, beating Paragould 24-16. Sophomore Aryan Dale caught the TD pass. Senior Jackson Elam made all 3 extra points, a field goal, had 4 touchbacks on kickoffs, and averaged 36 yards per punt.
No. 20 GREENE CO. TECH (1-4, 1-1) at Brookland (0-5, 0-2): Greene County Tech’s Nicholas Otero drilled a 36-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Eagles past Wynne 17-14. Ashton Addison ran 30 times for 163 yards and 2 GCT TDs. The Eagles held Wynne to 244 yards. Brookland lost at Nettleton 29-28 in overtime last week, and 4 of its losses this fall have been by 6 points or less. Senior QB/RB Gabe Carter ran 31 times for 247 yards and 4 TDs.
5A SOUTH
No. 13 Magnolia (3-2, 1-1) at No. 11 CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (2-3, 1-1): Camden Fairview has won this rivalry game 17 of the past 25 years. Junior Donta Thrower ran 13 times for 109 yards and 3 TDs in last week’s 42-23 win over Arkansas High (Texarkana). Junior playmaker Dayton Browning ran for 2 TDs and caught 2 passes for 73 yards and 1 TD. Senior J’son Moten made 4 tackles, including 2 sacks, and recovered 1 fumble. Magnolia must regroup after last week’s 34-6 loss to No. 3 HS Lakeside. The Panthers trailed 28-0 in the second quarter. Magnolia QB Walker Carter completed 3 of 4 passes for 58 yards and 1 TD, all to senior Kaleb Roach. The Panthers must run the ball better (averaged 2.3 yards per carry).
No. 7 LR PARKVIEW (2-3, 1-1) at Hope (1-4, 0-2): LR Parkview bounced back from its first conference loss in more than 3 years to defeat De Queen 52-6 last week. QB Montrell Thompson and offensive tackle Travis Worsham both played well. Hope gave up 493 yards in last week’s 49-14 loss at Hot Springs.
No. 3 HS LAKESIDE (4-1, 2-0) at Texarkana, Arkansas High (0-5, 0-2): Winless Arkansas High surrendered 331 yards rushing (8.7 ypc) in last week’s 45-14 loss to Camden Fairview. Hot Springs Lakeside beat Magnolia 34-6 as senior Tremendous Cain (7-72 rushing, 2 TDs) and junior Peter Ohman (17-107, 1 TD) paced a high-powered rushing attack. Senior WR Drew Morgan caught 10 passes for 125 yards and 1 TD.
De Queen (3-2, 1-1) at No. 5 HOT SPRINGS (4-1, 2-0): Hot Springs jumped on Hope 42-7 in the first half last week, cruising to a 49-14 decision. Senior QB Sedrick “Bishop” Allen passed for 248 yards and 3 TDs and ran 4 times for 50 yards. WR Ja’Marcis Morning led the Trojans with 5 catches for 112 yards and 1 TD. Senior Lebrian Jordan made 7 tackles and 1 sack. De Queen lost to LR Parkview 52-6 a week ago.
5A WEST
No. 4 Farmington (4-1, 2-0) at No. 2 GREENBRIER (5-0, 2-0): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.
Pea Ridge (0-5, 0-2) at No. 9 MORRILTON (4-1, 1-1): Improving Pea Ridge lost to Vilonia 35-27 last week. LB Ollie Sessions led the Blackhawks in tackles, including a sack that forced a fumble. Tristan German ran for 167 yards and 3 TDs. Morrilton held off Alma’s rally last week to win 35-28. Senior QB Maddox Berry passed for 294 yards and 5 TDs, with Jamarcus Sandidge catching 13 passes for 91 yards and 2 TDs. Dante Cox, Maddox Jones and Champ McNabb each caught TDs. Rysheed Criswell led the defense with 10 tackles.
No. 12 HARRISON (2-3, 1-1) at Clarksville (1-4, 0-2): Harrison QB Gavin Jones and RB Isaiah Hale each ran for TDs in last week’s 23-point loss to Farmington. Clarksville’s Denver Pickartz ran 21 times for 100 yards and 1 TD, and collected 8 tackles on defense in last week’s 49-7 loss at Greenbrier; James Cook logged 15 carries for 56 yards. Cole Fizzell led the offensive front with 8 pancake blocks.
Alma (1-4, 0-2) at No. 16 VILONIA (3-2, 2-0): This game went to overtime last season, with Vilonia winning 52-45. Alma rallied in the fourth quarter but lost to Morrilton 35-28 last week. Senior Samuel Schlegel (13-94 rushing, TD; 2-92 receiving, TD) and WR Dylan Jackson (4-74 receiving, TD) led on offense. Owen McCoy (11 tackles) was a top performer. Vilonia eased past Pea Ridge last week, 35-27, with QB Coleson Ashcraft passing for 253 yards and 3 TDs, and running for 70 yards. WR JR Ringgold (8-77-1 TD) and Lincoln Harrison (5-60-1 TD) both had big games; LBs Von Franabarger (15 tackles) and Logan Bowers (9 tackles) paced the defense.
