No. 5 HOT SPRINGS (5-1, 3-0) at No. 13 Magnolia (3-3, 1-2):

 Hot Springs’ quest to win a conference title gets tougher in the final month of the regular season. The Trojans remained undefeated in 5A South games with last week’s 56-7 victory over De Queen. Senior quarterback Shedrick “Bishop” Allen completed 15 of 17 passes for 342 yards and 6 touchdowns. Brothers Gabe Jaime (6-146 receiving, TD; punt return TD) and Luey Jaime (3-71 receiving, 2 TDs; 8 tackles, 1 forced fumble) made their presence felt. Ja’Marcis Morning (5-121 receiving, 3 TDs) and Colby Holder (5-121 receiving, 3 TDs; 12 tackles) made notable contributions.

Magnolia led Camden Fairview 28-21 before losing 42-40. Three backs rushed for more than 100 yards: senior Ike Ainsworth (21-111-1), junior Jamaijha Marshall (19-118-1) and sophomore John Curry (12-114-4), but the Panthers didn’t complete a pass. Senior linebacker Chevis Johnson (6 tackles) led the defense.

No. 1 JOE T. ROBINSON (6-0, 3-0) at No. 16 Beebe (4-2, 2-1): Joe T. Robinson QB Reece Simpson passed for 180 yards and 3 TDs in last week’s 72-0 win over White Hall. Kevin “Deuce” Williams ran 8 times for 172 yards and 2 TDs and caught a TD pass, while Bryshun Cunningham ran 8 times for 60 yards and 1 TD. Kyrin Grimes returned a punt 60 yards for a TD, and Williams Tait hit a 43-yard field goal. Beebe beat Pine Bluff 35-12 after leading 14-12 at the half. Senior Curtis Goodrich ran 37 times for 219 yards and 3 TDs and completed a pass.

No. 6 SEARCY (6-0, 3-0) at Pine Bluff (1-5, 1-2): Pine Bluff suspended Coach Michael Williams last Wednesday, then lost to Beebe 34-12. The Zebras trailed by 2 points in the third quarter. Searcy remained unbeaten with last week’s 48-27 win over Jacksonville. Sophomore QB Jacob Miles passed for 311 yards and 5 TDs, and ran for 81 yards. Senior RB Kobe White (18-82 rushing, 2 TDs) and junior Jackson Smith (6-156 receiving, 4 TDs) were big playmakers.

Jacksonville (2-4, 0-3) at No. 10 MAUMELLE (4-2, 3-0): Jacksonville led Searcy 10-0 in the first quarter and 20-14 at halftime last week before losing 48-27. Senior QB Bryston Belew passed for 200 yards and 1 TD, and senior Keyshawn Glenn caught 6 passes for 152 yards and 1 TD. Junior LB Anthony Ross had 12 tackles and 1 sack. Maumelle remained unbeaten in conference last week with a 42-0 win at Watson Chapel. QB Levi Warrior directed 6 consecutive scoring drives, while Marshaun Wiley ran for 3 TDs. Bubba Johnson caught a TD pass and Darius Glover intercepted a pass.

Watson Chapel (0-6, 0-2) at WHITE HALL (0-6, 0-2): A battle of winless teams. White Hall has beaten its cross-town rival Watson Chapel 14 of the past 24 years. Watson Chapel has been outscored 290-48 this year; White Hall has been outscored 296-69.

 5A EAST

Wynne (2-4, 1-2) at BATESVILLE (1-5, 1-2): These rivals have split the past 24 meetings. Wynne enters off a 35-0 loss to Valley View. Batesville was tied with Harding Academy 14-14 in the third quarter last week before losing 31-14. Sophomore Aryan Dale caught both Batesville TD passes; junior LB Rourke Sevier had 13 tackles.

Greene Co. Tech (1-5, 1-2) at No. 15 NETTLETON (4-2, 3-0): Greene County Tech was unable to build momentum after beating Wynne 2 weeks ago. The Eagles lost to previously winless Brookland last week 24-7. Nettleton beat Paragould 29-6 last week with RB Xavier Harrell, and receivers Jordan Simmons and Jordan Orr leading the offense; LBs Darius McCuison and Damin Coleman were the top tacklers.

No. 14 HARDING ACADEMY (3-3, 2-1) at Paragould (3-3, 0-3): QB Krews Wray passed for 245 yards and connected with Joseph Myles (5-191 receiving, 2 TDs) as Harding Academy beat Batesville 31-14. Myles scored a third TD when he recovered a teammate’s fumble in the end zone. Hunter Hopkins’ 23-yard field goal broke a 14-14 tie in the third quarter.

No. 20 Brookland (1-5, 1-2) at No. 8 VALLEY VIEW (5-1, 3-0): Valley View’s 35-0 victory over Wynne was its third consecutive shutout.  Valley View has won 6 of its 7 games against Brookland. LB Rylan McNamee had 14 tackles and 1 sack vs. Wynne; Avion Jones made 10 tackles and 1 sack. Parker King ran for 2 TDs, while Levin Manning caught a TD pass. Brookland beat Greene Co. Tech last week for its first win. Senior QB Gabe Carter completed 7 of 10 passes and ran 29 times for 192 yards and 2 TDs. Senior safety Dot Aloh had 7 tackles and 2 interceptions.

5A SOUTH

No. 5 HOT SPRINGS (5-1, 3-0) at No. 13 Magnolia (3-3, 1-2): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.

Hope (1-5, 0-3) at No. 3 HS LAKESIDE (5-1, 3-0): Hope has lost its 3 conference games by a combined 169-46. HS Lakeside totaled 519 yards in last week’s 28-14 win at Texarkana. Senior QB Wally Wolcott threw 3 TD passes, with senior Drew Morgan catching 7 passes for 164 yards and 2 TDs. The Rams intercepted 2 passes and blocked a field goal. Senior Luke Wreublesky had 10 tackles and an interception.

No. 11 CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (3-3, 2-1) at De Queen (3-3, 1-2): Camden Fairview has beaten De Queen 14 of the past 15 seasons, and the Cardinals offensive line continues improving weekly. Junior RBs Demarion Robinson and DJ Thrower have played well the past 3 games, coach Nick Vaughn says. De Queen has lost consecutive conference games by a combined 108-13.

Texarkana (0-6, 0-3) at No. 7 LR PARKVIEW (3-3, 2-1): Winless Texarkana showed improvement in last week’s 14-point loss to No. 3 HS Lakeside. LR Parkview has won its past 2 conference games by a combined 116-13. Tailback Sadiq Goji, WR/RB Dak Crosby and LB Rae Parsons played well in last week’s 64-7 win at Hope.

5A WEST

No. 2 GREENBRIER (6-0, 3-0) at No. 17 Alma (2-4, 1-2): Greenbrier’s Enoch Assan ran 35 times for 356 yards and 4 TDs to help the Panthers past Farmington 48-38 a week ago. The Panthers trailed at halftime, but Assan ran for 260 yards and scored all 4 of his TDs in the second half. “He’s just special,” Greenbrier Coach Randy Tribble says. “He’s the best running back to ever come through here.” Alma beat Vilonia 38-12 for its first conference win. Isaac Plourde made 8 tackles, 1 interception and returned a fumble for a TD. WR Dylan Jackson sparked the offense with 8 receptions for 114 yards.

No. 18 Vilonia (3-3, 2-1) at No. 4 FARMINGTON (4-2, 2-1): Vilonia has beaten Farmington in 6 of the 9 meetings. Farmington must quickly recover from last week’s 10-point loss at Greenbrier. QB Ayden Lester passed for 328 yards and 3 TDs and ran for 111 yards and 1 TD;  Dawson Keaton caught 12 passes for 113 yards and 1 TD.

No. 9 MORRILTON (5-1, 2-1) at No. 12 Harrison (3-3, 2-1): Morrilton QB Maddox Berry hit 20 of 28 passes for 271 yards and 4 TDs in last week’s 45-13 win over Pea Ridge. Brelan Criswell (148 rushing, 2 TDs) led the ground attack. Harrison’s Isiah Hale scored 3 TDs in last week’s 55-16 win over Clarksville; QB Gavin Jones ran for 125 yards and 2 TDs. Center Denver Woehl led the offensive line; Eli McNutt returned an interception 50 yards for a TD. DE Aspen Stephens made 6 tackles, including 1 sack, and had 5 QB hurries.

Clarksville (1-5, 0-3) at PEA RIDGE (0-6, 0-3): Pea Ridge has won 4 consecutive games over Clarksville, including 55-44 a year ago. Pea Ridge QB Hudson White passed for 202 yards and 2 TDs in last week’s 45-13 loss at Morrilton. Caleb Thornton and Ollie Sessions each made 9 tackles for Pea Ridge’s defense. Clarksville’s Rylan Melson had 7 tackles and Jesus Gonzalez had 5 in last week’s 39-point loss to Harrison.
