GREENBRIER — Senior running back Enoch Assan turned in a career night, scoring six touchdowns as Greenbrier overcame an early deficit and raced past Warren, 57–32, in Friday’s opener.

Quarterback Jack Palmer kept the Lumberjacks’ defense guessing with quick strikes and play-action looks, including a first-half scoring toss to Salter Mahan. Assan did the rest, breaking loose for runs at every level and powering in from short yardage multiple times. Greenbrier’s momentum shifted late in the second quarter when defensive back Ethan Smith returned an interception deep into Warren territory, setting up another Assan score just before halftime.

Special teams made a statement as well: defensive end C.J. Ussery blocked a punt to give the Panthers a short field, while Ethan Rhodes converted every PAT. On defense, end/lineman Ethan Quattlebaum disrupted the pocket and linebacker Ace Newland delivered timely stops.

Warren looked sharp early as quarterback Jackson Denton connected with Jojo Steen and Bleyze Fellows to build a 12–0 lead. Receiver Tayshawn Edwards grabbed a red-zone touchdown, while running back Aaron Davis electrified the home crowd with a 78-yard kickoff return.
