Maumelle 55, White Hall 20

WHITE HALL — After surrendering an opening-kickoff touchdown, Maumelle steadied itself and ripped off 35 straight first-half points to beat White Hall 55–20 convincingly on Friday at Bulldog Stadium in White Hall, Ark. Junior quarterback Levi Warrior kept the Hornets composed, hitting Christian Jackson and Jackson Hampton for scores and guiding a hook-and-ladder that Jacob Henry finished.

Henry, a senior two-way standout, also punched in a short rushing score and later added a second-half interception. Senior tailback Marshaun Wiley delivered the go-ahead run and a third-quarter goal-line plunge, plus a two-point conversion as Maumelle reached the sportsmanship-rule margin.

White Hall’s ground game flashed early behind seniors Tyrus Greene and Xavier Wallace; Greene’s first-quarter touchdown put the Bulldogs ahead 12–7 before Wallace powered in a two-point run. Senior quarterback Wyatt Golden later strung together completions to Kel McEntire and others, and Wallace scored again on a late two-yarder.

The turning point came when sophomore defensive back Jayden Baker ripped a ball free and returned it for a second-quarter touchdown; on the next series the Hornets executed the hook-and-ladder to Henry, and they never looked back. Freshman quarterback Evan Wallace handled the closing snaps, and freshman kicker Dylan Moran converted routinely.

Maumelle created chunk plays in the air and on the edge, controlled field position after the shaky start on special teams, and won the turnover battle. White Hall showed mettle early and intermittently in the passing game after halftime, but the Hornets’ depth and pace decided it.
