Bryant 28, Conway 21

CONWAY — Bryant seized a seventh straight 7A Central crown Friday, edging Conway 28-21 behind Kollin Robinson’s three rushing touchdowns and a late quarterback keeper from Jeremiah Motes before a packed crowd in Conway. Robinson scored from 6, 8 and 6 yards, and Motes’ 1‑yard plunge early in the fourth provided the winning margin.

Conway struck first on an 18‑yard Wildcat run by Carter Crow and reclaimed the lead in the second quarter when free safety Tay Lockett jumped a route for a 20‑yard pick‑six. The Wampus Cats surged again after halftime on running back Trey Harris’ 58‑yard burst.

Bryant answered each time. Wideout Jakobe Boone flipped field position with a long kickoff return and later hauled in a 37‑yard catch on second‑and‑23 to set up the go‑ahead series. Receivers Caleb Tucker and Kamauri Austin moved chains for a Hornet attack that otherwise avoided turnovers.

Equally vital was Bryant’s defense. Linebacker Jakore Smith, ends Mathew Nelson and Sam Nelson, and tackle Malachi McDonald strung out Conway’s perimeter game, while corner Terriun Jones intercepted a deep ball in the end zone. Linebacker Bryant Davis sniffed out a fake punt in the third, and lineman Terrance Ellis added a drive‑killing sack late.

Conway sophomore quarterback Ryder Cook extended plays with his legs and connected repeatedly with playmaker Kambrien Blackmon to move the sticks, and punter Will Upton helped flip the field. But the Hornets closed it out with a final first down, ensuring the road to War Memorial again runs through Bryant.
