DeWITT — Jacksonville used a balanced attack and a big night from junior running back Mason Ball to edge DeWitt 28-20 on Friday. Ball carried the Titans’ offense with 133 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and a two-point conversion, while quarterback Jaylon Foster added a short rushing score.

DeWitt started strong behind quarterback Xa Cox, who found Marshaun Bowers for a 4-yard touchdown strike. The Dragons later got a spark from senior RB/LB Korri Graham, who hauled in a touchdown pass from Kaden Pippingerand added a second-half rushing score plus a two-point conversion.

Jacksonville’s offensive line wore down the Dragons in the middle quarters, springing Ball for big runs. Defensively, the Titans picked off two passes to stall DeWitt rallies, though the Dragons’ defense forced punts and kept the game close late.

Both teams showcased playmakers — Jacksonville leaning on Ball’s explosiveness, while DeWitt countered with Graham’s physical running and Bowers’ big early catch. Pippinger, a junior QB, kept the Dragons within reach with a steady passing performance.

The Dragons had possession late, but Jacksonville’s secondary sealed the game with its second interception.
