LITTLE ROCK — Tyler Uptegrove’s first game as head coach at Joe T. Robinson couldn’t have been scripted much better. The Senators dominated all three phases Friday night, hammering Pulaski Academy 53–14 in a signature debut.
Senior Kevin “Deuce” Williams electrified the home crowd by returning an interception for a touchdown on the game’s second snap. Williams later housed an onside kick and added a short rushing score before halftime, delivering a rare three-way performance. Junior cornerback/wideout Hakim Frampton joined the party with a pick-six, while junior quarterback Reece Simpson steadied the offense, tossing a red-zone strike to senior linebacker Jackson Redman. Tulsa defensive line commit Deminio Patterson capped the night with a fourth-quarter goal-line plunge.
Pulaski Academy, breaking in senior receiver-turned-quarterback William Svoboda, still flashed creativity. Svoboda threw a pair of early touchdown passes, including one to junior running back Ja’vion Walker. Sophomore wideout Chase Hancock snagged a two-point conversion, while senior receiver Mason Greathouse provided steady production. On defense, senior OLB T.J. Logan was active, and Landon O’Donnell’s onside kicks briefly swung field position.
What it means: Robinson sent a loud message under its new leader, unveiling a defense and special-teams formula that could carry deep into the season. Pulaski Academy, retooling at quarterback and up front, showed its trademark tempo and inventiveness and should climb as Svoboda grows comfortable and Walker’s touches increase.
