Junction City 43, Gurdon 0

GURDON — Junction City leaned on a bruising front and senior quarterback Dakorey Larry to blank Gurdon 43–0 in a 2A‑3 showdown Friday night. Larry ripped touchdown runs of 53, 15 and 45 yards and unofficially topped 200 rushing yards, setting the tone for a methodical, clock‑chewing win. Both schools compete in 2A‑3.

The Dragons struck first when Larry slipped through a crease for a 53‑yard score, then added a 15‑yard keeper late in the opening period. Junction City pushed the margin to three possessions before halftime as senior Jaxxon Caldwell hammered in from the 1 and Larry found Nemo Caldwell for the two‑point play.

Gurdon’s defense delivered bright spots. The Go‑Devils authored three fourth‑down stands inside the red zone and forced a missed PAT, with senior Uriah Gatlin flashing a 29‑yard burst to flip field position and senior receiver Cody Rider hauling in several throws from sophomore QB Jonah Jester.

Junction City’s defense matched the offense all night. Senior OLB Dalton Baker repeatedly collapsed the pocket, piling up tackles for loss, while senior WR/FS Dakylan “DK” Hampton added a leaping interception to erase a third‑quarter drive. After Zamundrae Gray muscled in a short third‑quarter score and Larry’s third long sprint, sophomore Adrian Perry finished the scoring with a late goal‑line carry. Reid Cates converted three PATs.
