Junction City 43, Foreman 6

JUNCTION CITY — Junction City’s defense delivered one of its finest performances of the season Friday night, forcing seven turnovers and scoring two defensive touchdowns in a dominant 43–0 win over Mineral Springs. The Dragons limited the Hornets to fewer than 100 total yards, improving to 4–1 overall and 2–0 in 2A-3.

Senior safety Jermaine Kennedy headlined the onslaught with five tackles, two interceptions, and a pick-six, while linebacker Nehemiah Caldwell posted six tackles, two tackles for loss, and a fumble return for a touchdown. Senior captain Dalton Baker anchored the front with eight tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and a blocked punt. The secondary proved airtight, as Jakorey Larry, DK Hampton, and Zamundrae Gray each added an interception.

Offensively, Junction City stayed balanced behind quarterback Dakorey Larry, who completed 8-of-14 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 76 yards and two more scores. Running back Jaxxon Caldwell powered between the tackles with 10 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown, and DK Hampton hauled in two receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown.

The Dragons raced to a 29–0 halftime lead and never let up, controlling possession and field position throughout. Coach Devin Ball praised his team’s discipline and effort on both sides of the ball, saying, “That’s the brand of Dragon football we expect every week.”

Junction City will carry its two-game conference win streak into a key road trip next week, while Mineral Springs looks to regroup after the tough loss.
