Lewis’ four scores send Hamburg past DeWitt in 4A‑8

Hamburg 43, DeWitt 8
The Lions leaned on their identity Friday night—power running and timely shots in the air—and it added up to a convincing road win in 4A‑8 play. Senior RB/OLB Ni’kel Lewis paced Hamburg with 195 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while junior QB/FS Kaeden Thomas balanced the attack with 126 yards and a TD through the air and 76 yards and a TD on the ground. Senior WR/FS Ke’ovion Brown proved the primary target, hauling in eight catches for 116 yards and a score as Hamburg methodically pulled away after the first quarter. K Alberto Aguilar was perfect on five PATs.
DeWitt briefly led 8–7 late in the opening period and matched Hamburg’s physicality early behind senior RB/OLB Korri Graham, whose downhill runs and return work kept the Dragons on schedule, and sophomore QB Kaiden Golden, who supplied tough yards between the tackles. On defense, senior DB/WR Terrell Dale helped ignite the early momentum, and WR/DB Landyn Graham made several clean open‑field stops. But the Lions’ depth showed after halftime as Lewis and Thomas each found the end zone in the third quarter and Brown added a late two‑point reception to close it out.
With the result, Hamburg firmed up its postseason seeding behind a 400‑plus‑yard night of total offense, while DeWitt turned its focus to finishing the regular season at home and getting healthy for rivalry week.
