Lewis, Williams score twice in Forrest City victory

WYNNE — Vonterrious Williams caught a touchdown pass and returned an interception 77 yards for another score as Forrest City defeated Wynne 32-0 Friday at Yellow Jacket Stadium.
Kendrick Patterson threw three touchdown passes, and Jatavious Lewis caught two touchdown passes for the Mustangs, who improved to 2-0.
Williams caught a 32-yard pass on third-and-14 during Forrest City’s opening drive, and a first down on a fake punt extended the possession. Patterson finished with a 19-yard touchdown pass to La’Corian Smith at 7:15, then found Williams for the two-point conversion.
Williams broke up a fourth-down pass on Wynne’s first possession. Smith moved to quarterback and threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Lewis with 3:16 left in the first quarter, extending the lead to 14-0.
Wynne’s Caden Crawford intercepted Patterson with 9:53 remaining in the second quarter. Carson Stovall added an interception near Wynne’s goal line with 1:29 before halftime. Neither team scored in the period.
Grant Oguin’s 32-yard reception on fourth-and-seven moved Wynne to Forrest City’s 25 on its opening second-half possession. The Yellow Jackets reached the 10, where the Mustangs forced an incomplete pass on fourth-and-four.
Patterson’s 44-yard touchdown pass to Lewis extended the lead to 20-0 with 5:50 left in the third quarter.
Williams caught Patterson’s third touchdown pass with 11:40 left in the fourth. He then intercepted a deflected pass and returned it 77 yards for a touchdown at 9:27.
Wynne’s TJ Jackson intercepted a pass at his team’s 1-yard line with 3:08 remaining. Oguin added his fourth reception before Forrest City regained possession and ended the game with kneeldowns.
Unofficial broadcast totals credited Forrest City with 326 yards of offense, including 246 passing and 80 rushing. Wynne finished with 153 yards, including 85 rushing and 68 passing. The Mustangs recorded 18 first downs; the Yellow Jackets had nine.
