October 9 2026

Kenneth “KJ” Gilcreast rushed for three touchdowns and threw four scoring passes as Mills rebounded with a 49-21 homecoming victory over Beebe on Friday night.

The Comets scored 35 consecutive points after Beebe struck first and took a 35-7 lead into halftime. Maddox Parker and Daking Warren each caught two touchdown passes, giving Gilcreast reliable targets as Mills improved to 5-1.

Beebe opened with a successful option series. After working the interior running game, Hayden Bates kept the ball long enough to pitch to Cameron Harness, who raced 40 yards for a touchdown. The extra point put the Badgers ahead 7-0 less than two minutes into the game.

Mills answered immediately. A completion to Parker and a strong Bryshun Cunningham run moved the Comets to the 9-yard line, where Gilcreast kept the ball, made a defender miss and scored. The extra point tied the game.

Gilcreast put Mills ahead with another first-quarter keeper, powering into the end zone with 6:13 remaining. Beebe blocked the extra point, leaving the Comets ahead 13-7. Cordae Ratliff then recovered a loose option pitch, giving the offense another chance to build its lead.

Gilcreast found Parker on a quick throw, and Parker made a defender miss to complete the touchdown play. Gilcreast added the two-point run for a 21-7 advantage. Mills followed with an interception on a Beebe halfback pass and carried that possession into the second quarter.

Facing third-and-8, Gilcreast kept the ball and ran for his third rushing touchdown. The extra point made it 28-7 with 10:49 left in the half. Warren then supplied the game’s biggest scoring reception, winning a contested catch on a 61-yard throw from Gilcreast. The kick pushed Mills ahead 35-7 with 8:11 remaining.

The Comets resumed scoring on their first possession after halftime. Daylon Bullock broke a 35-yard run, Parker added a catch and Gilcreast hit Warren on a post route for another touchdown. The extra point struck the upright, leaving the score 41-7.

Beebe answered through Harness, who again found room on a pitch after Donald Willett carried out the inside fake. The Badgers’ extra point made it 41-14.

Mills needed one more response. Gilcreast converted a third-and-1 keeper, Roosevelt Eaton gained 18 yards on a catch, and Cunningham provided a key block as the quarterback escaped pressure and threw to Parker in the end zone. Cunningham then took a handoff from Parker on the two-point conversion, extending the lead to 49-14 with 7:13 left in the third quarter.

Willett scored Beebe’s final touchdown on a fourth-quarter run. Mills hosts Greenbrier next Friday, while Beebe fell to 1-5.
