Moo, Maybee score twice as Green Forest wins homecoming

GREEN FOREST — Ywa Hay Moo and Hadley Maybee rushed for two touchdowns as Green Forest defeated Marshall 35-8 Friday in the Tigers’ homecoming game.
Green Forest scored on an interception return and improved to 3-0. Marshall quarterback Stretch Childers scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Colt Yarbrough broke a long run on Marshall’s opening snap, taking the Bobcats near the goal line before Green Forest stopped the drive. Maybee opened the scoring on a short keeper with 57 seconds left in the first quarter. Marshall blocked the extra point.
The Bobcats recovered a fumble at their 1-yard line in the second quarter, with Jaydon Salas securing the ball. Green Forest answered on the next play with an interception return for a touchdown. Moo ran for the two-point conversion, making it 14-0.
Moo added a long touchdown run with 4:11 remaining before halftime. Abisai Reyes kicked the extra point for a 21-0 lead.
Marshall forced a punt on Green Forest’s first possession of the second half. On the Tigers’ next possession, Moo broke free from his 18-yard line for his second touchdown. Reyes’ kick made it 28-0 with five minutes left in the third quarter.
Ely Couch made a third-down tackle that helped force a Green Forest punt late in the third quarter, one of Marshall’s two defensive stops that period.
Maybee added a short touchdown keeper in the fourth quarter, and Reyes kicked his third extra point.
Marshall answered with an 80-yard touchdown drive. Couch opened the possession with consecutive first-down runs, including a 12-yard gain. Salas converted fourth-and-one with a run around the left side to extend the possession.
Couch then cut across the field on a run to the Green Forest 6. Childers scored on the next play, and Salas added the two-point conversion.
