Dierks 47, Foreman 46

The Dierks Outlaws pulled off a dramatic 47-46 victory over the Foreman Gators Friday night in 2A-3 conference play, holding off a furious rally in one of the most exciting games of Week 8.

Coach Paul Ernest’s Outlaws jumped out to a 14-0 lead early, capitalizing on a balanced offensive attack led by quarterback Tyson Turner and running back Wyatt Helms. Dierks’ offensive line paved the way for 400 total yards, while receivers Landon Cox and Reid Roberts combined for three touchdown grabs.

The Gators, led by Coach Ed Baker, stormed back behind running back Kaden Johnson, who rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns. Foreman’s physical ground game closed the gap to 27-16 at halftime, then seized the momentum in the third quarter, taking a 32-27 lead on Johnson’s 40-yard burst up the middle.

In the fourth, Dierks answered with back-to-back scoring drives. Turner found Cox for a 25-yard touchdown before Helms powered in from the 3-yard line to regain the lead. Foreman struck again late, but a failed two-point conversion preserved Dierks’ one-point victory.
