West Monroe 31, Pulaski Academy 17

MONROE, La. — Pulaski Academy fought toe-to-toe with Louisiana power West Monroe, but turnovers and a fourth-quarter surge doomed the Bruins in a 31–17 loss Friday night.

Sophomore quarterback Aaron Orgle made his first varsity start in place of the injured William Subiaco and showed poise, throwing a touchdown pass to senior receiver Mason Greathouse and leading a second-quarter scoring drive capped by running back Ja’Vion Walker out of the Wild Bruin set. PA’s defense, led by Hartford Lowe’s goal-line forced fumble and interception, kept the Bruins in front 14–10 at halftime.

West Monroe, however, leaned on junior tailback Christian Ponti, who powered in three touchdowns, including the game-tying and go-ahead scores in the fourth quarter. Kicker Hunter Fox added a 27-yard field goal and four extra points, and the Rebels sealed the game when a strip-sack was recovered in the end zone with under three minutes to play.

Pulaski Academy receivers Bryce Gittens and Chase Hancock provided steady outlets for Orgle, while linebacker T.J. Logan anchored the defense with multiple stops. But the Bruins’ offense stalled late, and West Monroe’s size and depth on the line wore them down.
