Wolverines’ fast start, defense bury Northside on Senior Night

FORT SMITH — Bentonville West used a fast start and a relentless defense to spoil Northside’s Senior Night, 56–0, at Mayo Thompson Stadium. The Wolverines scored on their first three possessions and never looked back, building a 35–0 halftime lead behind senior quarterback Tre Thompson, who threw three touchdown passes — two to junior receiver Ryan Adjam and one to senior William Davis. Sophomore running back VJ Warren opened the night with a short plunge, junior Dane Renick added a goal‑line score, and the defense broke it open when Renick jumped a route for a pick‑six early in the third. Sophomore quarterback Sutton Mackey later kept for a touchdown, and junior wideout Aazire Banks capped the scoring with a fourth‑quarter grab.

Northside threatened with a 10‑play march in the second quarter before a 37‑yard field‑goal try sailed wide. Sophomore quarterback Drew Jackson completed chain‑moving throws to Keelan Mendoza and Jayden Charles, while senior Elijah Rogers powered two short‑yardage conversions out of a direct‑snap look. Charles and Terrell Holmes also provided spark with returns that pushed the ball past the 30. On defense, senior end Hunter Hansen delivered several heavy hits, and junior safety Abram Dotson ran down a long gainer to save points.
