No. 8 Camden Fairview (1-0) at 6A No. 6  EL DORADO (1-0): Camden Fairview beat Arkadelphia 40-18 last week, leading 34-10 after 3 quarters. Brodie Dow completed 15 of 19 for 273 yards and 4 TDs. Senior running back Demarion Robinson rushed 36 times for 250 yards and 2 TDs and receivers Dayton Browning and Calvin Morris combined for 240 yards. El Dorado earned a 23-16 road victory over Magnolia in its opener. Camden Fairview brings an offense that produced 6 touchdowns in Week 0, while El Dorado returns home after picking up a quality road win. 

5A CENTRAL

7A NR LR Central (0-1) at No. 2 JOE T. ROBINSON (1-0):  Senators quarterback Reece Simpson completed 11 of 14 passes for 191 yards, all in the first half. Charles Petty carried 17 times for 95 yards. Central had 5 defensive penalties on 3rd down to keep drives going, and 4 of those drives led to points for Sylvan Hills. This week the Senators look to extend its winning streak to 16. Hootens.com is going with Joe T. in a close one. 

OPEN No. 3 Greenbrier (1-0)

7A No. 6 NR NORTH LITTLE ROCK (1-0) at No. 6 Parkview (1-0): The Bolding Bowl is one of the stronger matchups in central Arkansas this week. North Little Rock travels to Parkview on Friday night in a matchup of teams that opened the season with victories and are coached by brothers Brad (North Little Rock) and Bobby (Parkview), The Charging Wildcats stayed home to defeat Rogers 34-28 in Week 0; Parkview won 34-26 at Pine Bluff. North Little Rock showed it can finish a close game against quality competition, while Parkview built a 28-6 halftime lead, and held off a Pine Bluff comeback. North Little Rock’s stable of backs will be tough to handle, leading Hootens.com to pick the Charging Wildcats over the Patriots. 

No. 15 Maumelle (0-1) at 6A SYLVAN HILLS (1-0): Maumelle dropped its home opener against to Ozark. Levi Warrior completed 9 of 19 passes for 123 yards and 1 touchdown, and Isaac Warrior caught 5 passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. Sylvan Hills’ offensive firepower seems too much for the Hornets; Hootens.com is going with the Bears. 

4A SOUTHSIDE (Batesville) at No. 14 Jacksonville (1-0) (Thursday): Jacksonville put up some impressive numbers in Week 0 at Watson Chapel. Kingston Burnett (231 passing, 2 TDs) and Mason Ball (9-88 rushing, 4 TDs) led the offense. Hootens.com is picking Southside to go on the road and win a close one. 

OPEN Mills (1-0)

GREENE CO TECH (1-0) at Beebe (0-1): These teams combined to throw 12 passes in Week O, so it could be a quick one Greene Co Tech’s Ashton Addison and Davonte Williams combined for 250 rushing yards and 3 TDs. Tech’s defense held Salem to 6 points behind  Lane Compton (14 tackles, FF, FR). Beebe QB Jeremiah Griffin completed 2 passes — both to Brayden Thigpen — for 143 yards and 2 TDs.  Hootens.com is picking Greene County Tech to go on the road and grind out the win. 

No. 12 MORRILTON (1-0)  at No. 15 Vilonia (1-0): Vilonia won at Nettleton in Week 0. Cooper Hanson finished with 188 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, Ryan Deal recorded 9 tackles, including 5 solo stops. Vilonia also forced 2 turnovers and blocked a punt. Morrilton defeated 6A Russellville in Week 0. Morrilton’s Caleb Hayes (104 rushing, TD), Davian Johnson (9 carries, 2 TDs) and Champ McNabb (2 TDs). Defensively, Jordan Dickerson and Lance Ross each recorded 11 tackles.

5A EAST

6A No. 1 SEARCY (1-0)  at No. 7 Valley View (1-0): Valley View used a balanced offensive attack in season-opening win at West Memphis. Taylor Hyneman threw for almost 200 yards and 2 TDs, and Carter Wallace ran for 99 yards. Searcy opened the season with a 54-13 win at Batesville, producing 399 yards, with 207 rushing and 192 passing. Deandre Shockley rushed for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns, and quarterback Jacob Miles threw 3 touchdown passes. Both teams enter Friday night 1-0 after strong opening performances, setting up one of the better early-season matchups in northeast Arkansas.

No. 19 Nettleton (0-1) at Class 4A No. 12 GOSNELL (1-0): Nettleton travels to Gosnell on Friday night for a matchup between two teams that showed plenty of offensive ability in Week Zero. Nettleton scored 33 points in a competitive 39-33 loss to Vilonia; Gosnell opened its season with a 41-14 victory over Caruthersville, Mo. 

4A No. 13 Lonoke (0-1) at No. 11 HARDING ACADEMY (0-1): Both teams are looking to build off challenging Week 0 openers, with Lonoke scoring 19 points against Class 4A No. 1 Stuttgart and Harding Academy putting up 13 against Class 7A Little Rock Christian. Lonoke showed it can move the football against a quality opponent, while Harding Academy tested itself against Class 7A competition in its opener. Harding Academy’s Tanner Simmons had 13 tackles, including 3 TFL; Bax Howell had 7 catches for 138 and 1 TD. Hootens.com is picking the Wildcats at home. 

No. 16 Batesville (0-1) at 3A No. 10 NEWPORT (1-0): Newport enters this nonconference matchup after opening with a 41-18 road victory over Class 2A Marked Tree. Batesville scored 13 points in its opener against 6A No. 2 Searcy and looks to respond in Week 1. Newport showed plenty of offensive production; Batesville gets another early-season opportunity against a quality opponent. 

4A Forrest City (0-0) at WYNNE (1-0): Forrest City opens its season Friday night on the road against a Wynne team coming off a 35-22 victory over Marion. Wynne running back Caden Crawford rushed for 110 yards and accounted for 4 TDs in the opener, and Grant Oguin added 63 receiving yards.

5A SOUTH

No. 17 Hot Springs (0-1) at 4A No. 7 ARKADELPHIA (0-1): Hot Springs scored 13 points in its opening loss at Class 5A Greenbrier, while Arkadelphia scored 18 points on the road against Class 5A Camden Fairview. Hot Springs finished with 312 total yards, including 220 rushing yards on 36 carries against Greenbrier. Sophomore quarterback Brody Quast completed 10 of 19 passes for 92 yards and rushed 8 times for 63 yards and a touchdown. Asher Tillman (18-86 rushing, TD) and Zylon Alexander (3-48 receiving) led on offense.

No. 8 Camden Fairview (1-0) at 6A No. 6 EL DORADO (1-0): See Game of the Week notes.

No. 5 HS Lakeside (1-0) at 6A No. 8 JONESBORO (1-0): Lakeside defeated Class 6A Lake Hamilton 28-24 behind Peter Ohman, who rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns, while the Rams totaled 276 yards on the ground. Jonesboro opened with a 14-12 victory over Cabot. Quarterback C.J. Lovelace connected with Jaylen Heard for a 50-yard gain to set up the Hurricane’s first touchdown, while O’Jay Cullins scored both Jonesboro touchdowns on runs of 6 and 1 yards. Both teams enter Week 1 at 1-0, setting up a strong early-season matchup between Lakeside’s productive rushing attack and a Jonesboro team coming off a quality win over Class 7A Cabot.

4A No. 3 Nashville (1-0) at 5A No. 13 MAGNOLIA (0-1):  Nashville travels to Magnolia after an impressive 49-25 victory over Bismarck in Week 0. The Scrappers piled up 372 rushing yards in the opener, with Jacoby Hopson accounted for 215 total yards and 5 touchdowns. Magnolia enters after a 23-16 loss to 6A  El Dorado. Nashville brings an explosive offense to Magnolia, providing the Panthers with another strong early-season test.

NR PINE BLUFF (0-1) at Watson Chapel (0-1): Pine Bluff travels across town to face Watson Chapel on Friday night in a Jefferson County rivalry matchup. Pine Bluff showed plenty of offensive production in Week Zero, scoring 26 points against Little Rock Parkview. Watson Chapel found the end zone against Jacksonville when quarterback Kaedon Langel connected with Tylin Shelton for a touchdown.

4A HAMBURG (1-0)  at NR White Hall (0-1): Hamburg travels to White Hall on Friday night after opening the season with a 30-8 road victory over Dumas. White Hall returns home after falling 70-16 at 6A Sheridan. White Hall’s Kaleb Meadors had 1 Int and a 70-yard TD catch.

OPEN No. 15 Arkansas High (0-1), DeQueen (0-1)

5A WEST

No. 1 GREENWOOD (0-1) at 7A Pulaski Academy (0-1): Greenwood travels to Pulaski Academy on Friday night for a matchup between 2 of the state’s traditionally successful programs. Greenwood opened with a 28-24 loss at 7A Bentonville West, producing 338 yards of offense with 174 passing and 164 rushing. Pulaski Academy scored 21 points against Texas power Melissa and finished with 312 passing yards. 

NR 7A Rogers Heritage (0-1) at No. 5 FARMINGTON (1-0): Rogers Heritage travels to Farmington after falling to Camdenton, Mo., despite scoring 40 points in Week 0. Heritage’s Julien Castaneda (15-107 rushing, TD) and Jayden Cortez (8-79 rushing, TD) provided the offense. Farmington won 12-7 at 6A Mountain Home, allowing just 43 total yards. Jake Stolz (12 tackles, 2 FF) led on defense. 

6A Mountain Home (0-1) at 5A No. 10 HARRISON (1-0): Harrison plays its first home game after opening with 28-16 road victory over Branson, Mo. Mountain Home lost to 5A Farmington 12-7. 

No. 18 Alma (0-1) at 6A NR RUSSELLVILLE (0-1): Alma scored 20 points and threw for 269 yards in its opener against Class 6A Van Buren; Russellville produced more than 200 yards of offense in a 35-13 loss at Morrilton. The Cyclones were within 14-7 early in the third quarter against Morrilton before the game opened up. Alma moved the football effectively through the air in its opener.

NR Pea Ridge (0-1) at 4A No. 10 BOONEVILLE (1-0): These teams combined for 62 points in their openers, with Booneville scoring 34 in its win over Class 3A Charleston.

Class 5A Dardanelle (1-0)  at 4A No. 2 ELKINS (1-0):  Dardanelle opened the season with a 55-30 victory over defending Clas 3A champion Mansfield; Elkins earned a 33-28 road win over Pea Ridge.  Jayvon Chaten (13-130 rushing, 2 TDs) completed his only pass for 31 yards and a touchdown, and caught a pass for 17 yards. Chaten recorded 12 tackles and 2 TFL on defense. Breydin Hardy (5-35 rushing; 19 tackles, 1 INT.) contributed on both sides. CJ Cursh (7-62 rushing, 2 TDs; 2-4 passing, 37 yards; 2-56 receiving, 2 TDs; 14 tackles, 1 PBU) contributed on both sides of the ball.

3A Paris (0-1) at CLARKSVILLE (0-1): Paris opened the season with a 40-0 loss at Gentry;  Clarksville lost 35-10 to Waldron.
